Among the first of Roane State’s international students, Ines Schmid (formerly Wiedemann) was back on campus this week with her family.

Schmid became a Raider after winning a scholarship back in 2008 through the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program.

From Germany to Harriman, her time at Roane State helped her further strengthen her English-speaking skills that translated into a global business administration career.

It was great to see her and her family as they toured the campus! They are pictured with RSCC staffers Tamsin Miller and Deborah Miller. Tamsin and Deborah are also pictured with Ines in this archive photo.

Students interested in aviation or public safety now have even more opportunities to reach their goals. ✈️🚒

We're partnering with Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) to create seamless pathways that help students move from an associate degree to a bachelor's degree.

Whether you're pursuing aerospace or fire science, these new pathways make it easier to transfer credits, stay on track for graduation, and gain access to industry-leading resources, including hands-on flight training and online options for those in fire service careers.

Special thanks to Tennessee Flight Training and our local fire departments who've partnered with us on this effort. Together, we're opening doors to high-demand careers and helping students take the next step with confidence.
