Today, we had a pop-up bash for SWPBS!! You never know when these are going to happen and what positive choices are going to make you eligible!!

Today’s pop-up bash was brought to you by the letters N, U, and A, representing the phrase “No Unexcused Absences”!!!

We want to shout out a thanks to the City of Harriman - the Town Temperance Built and Midtown Pizza for helping make today’s pop-up bash possible! The students got to enjoy a movie and some popcorn in the gym, and afterwards, we had a small round of Ships and Sailors!!

Keep up the good work, Blue Devils!!

Tonight during our football pregame, our Beta Club paid tribute to our dearly departed Dolly Parton by releasing one of her favorite creatures in her honor—the butterfly.

We thought it was fitting that this particular species was The Painted Lady variety.

We will leave you with a quote from Dolly that has hit home with our Beta Club:

“Why does my kiddo keep telling me he/she doesn’t ever have homework, so they don’t need to bring anything home?”

Well, at a minimum, your child should be studying Monday night through Thursday night each week. We have regular weekly testing schedule at HMS, and you can see that schedule with the attached graphic.

With our standards-based testing at HMS, we assess one subject per day, Tuesday through Friday, every week. Some exceptions may arise, such as when we have inclement weather in the winter and schools have to close, but this is the standard schedule that rarely experiences deviations.

Now that you know our testing schedule, you can make sure your kiddo “is” doing some homework each night!!

This morning, some of our clssses joined in via radio with the stations across the state of Tennessee to remember Dolly as they played her song, “I Will Always Love You” at 9:00 AM.

We will always love Dolly and remember her kindness and charity toward everyone she met.
