Due to a lack of substitute drivers, Mr. Lowe's evening bus route will be canceled on Tuesday, August 25th. If your child rides Mr. Lowe’s bus in the evening, please make arrangements to have your child picked up at the school by 3:30 PM on Tuesday, August 25th. Attention Coalfield parents of students that ride Mr. BASLER’S bus COAL HILL ROAD.

There is a tree down close to Russell Hollow road making it impossible to pass. Authorities have been contacted and are on the way to cut and move the tree. The bus will be late. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Originally from Sunbright, Barb moved to Wartburg with her husband, Max, more than 30 years ago. After her children reached school age, she began substitute teaching at Petros-Joyner School. From there, she built an incredible 25+ year career in our school system, proudly serving as an aide at Petros-Joyner School and supporting teachers, staff, and students in any way she could.

This year, Barb begins a new chapter as our Transition Coordinator, where she will support former Petros-Joyner students and their families throughout this transition year. While this is her first year at Coalfield School, she is excited to reconnect with many familiar faces while also getting to know new teachers, students, and families as she becomes part of our school community.

Barb and her husband, Max, have been happily married for 39 years. Together, they have three children and are blessed with seven grandsons and one granddaughter. When she isn’t at school, you’ll most likely find Barb at a ballfield cheering on her grandchildren, traveling with her husband, or cooking for family and friends.

We are so excited to welcome Barb to Coalfield School! Her years of experience, caring heart, and dedication to students and families will be a wonderful addition to our school community.
