The V-Process works very well in producing aluminum castings consistently and accurately. The patterns we use have an extremely long life compared to other casting methods, which allows us to produce accurate castings even after long periods of time and production. After production, the castings are then subjected to rigorous quality reviews and inspections, weeding out any issues that may arise throughout the casting process.

FAQ - Can the V-Process utilize cores?

Yes, the V-Process is capable of using cores in the molding process. When a design includes hollow sections, undercut features, deep pockets, or other internal geometries that cannot be formed directly in the mold, cores become an essential part of the casting process. They allow us to produce complex features while maintaining the dimensional accuracy our customers expect. The V-Process can meet and exceeds many of the capabilities of traditional sand-casting methods, including complex cores.

Quality in Action: Chemical Material Testing with the Spectrometer

The driving factor of our success is our world class quality processes. The metal casting process requires a great attention to detail, so we take every step we can to ensure accurate and consistent results.

For every job we take, we use our spectrograph to analyze the chemical composition of our aluminum alloy and confirm that it meets the required specifications. We then take the necessary steps to ensure the best possible aluminum castings are delivered to our customers.

This is one of the first steps in our quality process and helps us remain consistent from the beginning of production through the finished casting.

Today is National Intern Day! Meet the three interns we hosted for our summer intern program:

- Keagan Book has taken the role of CIP business intern this summer. This fall, Book will enter his junior year at Slippery Rock University majoring in Computing with a concentration in Information Systems.

- Aiden Terry is the engineering intern for this summer, assisting in our robotic developments. Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Aiden will be heading into his junior year of college this fall at Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pa.

- Peyton Randall has joined our quality department as the quality assurance intern. He just finished his sophomore year at Grove City College where he is majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Your casting design doesn't have to be limited by the constraints of traditional casting methods.

Our unique aluminum casting technique is not held back by many of the design obstacles of sand or die casting. The V-Process is able to produce castings with…

✅ Zero-degree draft: Straight walls and 90-degree angles are achieved by relying on a vacuum system to hold the shape of the mold rather than hardened sand or die-cast mold.

✅ Thin walls: Walls can be as thin as .125”.

✅ Smooth surface finish: Castings made with the V-Process can have a surface finish of up to 125-150 RMS. The fine sand used for the mold and a run through the blast and wash system provide a cleaner final result.
