This weekend our K-1 kiddos competed with our K-3 team in the Regionals Tournament at Harlingen South High School!
They earned a 10th place trophy overall in the Championship Division!

Our K-5 team also brought home a 14th place trophy in the Championship Division.

We are beyond proud of our team for competing against the best of the best, and not leaving empty handed! We are so proud of all you of you!

We would like to show our appreciation for Jason’s Deli-Harlingen for hosting our spirit night in September. Unfortunately, we didn’t raise enough funds during our spirit night for a donation. Regardless, the manager Lupe, has offered to feed our team at Regionals this coming January! 🏴‍☠️🧡 We appreciate all your support for our team at Regionals by providing meals to our little pirates! ♟️

We had 7 kiddos participate in today’s tournament at Memorial Middle School!
In our K-1 team,
Liam Cavazos placed 6th
James Flores placed 5th
And James Cantu placed 1st
Overall as a team they brought home a 1st place trophy! Way to go little pirates!

In our K-3 team, we had Liam Guajardo earn a trophy for 19th place!
Aiden Rodriguez placed 13th!

Honorable mention goes to our K-5 team that consisted of Aria Mireles, and Abraham Grajales!

We are so proud of each and every one of you for showing up and giving your best! ♟️🧡🏴‍☠️🏆

What an amazing day of chess!
Our pirates did great at the La Feria Blackout Tournament at La Feria Early College High School!
Our K-1 players received a 3rd place trophy, individual awards went to:
James Cantu 10th place trophy
James Flores 4th place trophy
Liam Cavazos 3rd place trophy

Our K-3 team earned a 3rd place trophy as well, individual awards went to:
Aiden Rodriguez 16th place medal
Liam Villazaiz 15th place medal
Liam Guajardo 9th place trophy
Honorable mention goes to Onyebuchi Obinwanne who placed 25th!

K-5 category had 3 brave pirates who battled it out and Abraham Grajales earned a 13th place medal!
Honorable mention goes to Avery Atkinson who placed 22nd and Gavin Peterson who placed 23rd!

We are extremely proud of how well all of our kids played! We are ready for the next one! 🧡🏴‍☠️

I want to take the time to thank all the parents and players this weekend for attending the Lee Means Elementary Chess Tournament! All of our players had positive attitudes and growth mindsets!
Our K-1 team took home a team trophy as well as individual awards!
Avery Meza placed 30th 🏅
James Flores placed 12th 🏆
Liam Cavazos placed 4th 🏆
James Cantu placed 2nd 🏆
Overall as a team they tied for 1st but earned a 2nd place trophy due to tie-breakers!

Our lone K-3 category player, Liam Guajardo, placed 6th! 🏆

Way to go pirates! We are extremely proud of you all and can’t wait to see what this Chess season has in store for you! 🏴‍☠️🧡♟️
