Today, the HCISD Special Education Department officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with a meaningful time of blessing and prayer for our district, our students, their families, and our staff.

As the day continued, our team came together through collaborative team-building activities and took time to review our Special Education data. We celebrated the incredible growth our students and staff have achieved while identifying opportunities to continue improving the services and support we provide.

Our Special Education Department celebrated the end of the 2025-2026 year with awards, fun, and food at Creasy's Bowl in Harlingen, and we are truly thankful for everyone's hard work.

The LifeSkill students at Harlingen High School South were honored at an End of Year award presentation ceremony, acknowledging their progress and accomplishments. The students' growth and achievements were celebrated during the event.

Congratulations to our HCISD students for competing in the Region One VI’s Got Talent Competition this year.

This show features students from all over the region and allows our students to showcase their special talents! HCISD student results are as follows:

1st place - Bane Coronado;
2nd place- Richard Aguilar and Matthew Vega;

Vocal Performance category:
Brandy Drachenberg- 2nd place;

Instrumental Performance Category:
