SGA hosted a fun-filled bowling night at Creasy’s, giving our students a well-deserved break from studying! 📚 It was the perfect way to unwind, relieve some stress, and kick off the weekend with some friendly competition and good company.

🏆🐾 HOUSE INDUCTION: OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY! 🐾🏆

What an incredible start to a new SOPM tradition! Our students were officially welcomed into one of four Valley-inspired houses: 🦔 Armadillo, 🐆 Ocelot, 🐍 Rattlesnake, or 🦅 Hawk!

We’re excited to see these houses bring together students from different cohorts, creating new friendships, camaraderie, and a little friendly competition along the way!

The first competition was Trivia Night, and congratulations to the 🐆 Ocelots for taking home the win! 🎉🏆

This is only the beginning—we can’t wait for more competitions, events, and memories to come! Let the House Games begin! 🔥🐾

From August 6–9, our students traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, to attend the National APMA Annual Scientific Meeting at the Ga***rd Convention Center—and they represented UTRGV SOPM with excellence!

🏆 Congratulations to Nidhin John for submitting an essay for the APMA Education Award and earning 1st Runner-Up, along with an incredible $10,000 prize! 🎉👏

🧠 Congratulations to Elli Eskandari for competing in the 2026 APMA Quiz Bowl and proudly representing UTRGV on the national stage! 👏📚

🔬✨ Research Day 2026! ✨🔬

On July 31st, we had the opportunity to celebrate the incredible research our students have been working on throughout the past year! We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication to conducting meaningful research, asking important questions, and working toward answers that can make a difference in the future of podiatric medicine. 🦶📚

Research Day was a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their hard work with incoming first-year students, faculty, staff, and fellow classmates. From research questions to presentations and meaningful conversations, our students showcased the passion, curiosity, and perseverance that make our community so special.

We are beyond proud of everything our students have accomplished and are excited to see where their research journeys take them next. This is only the beginning—we can’t wait to see what they contribute to the future of podiatric medicine! 👣🩺
