A Pennsylvania man reeled in a 40-pound fish on Lake Erie last week. According to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Nick Lohrer caught the fish and sent photos to the commission.

NATIONAL HUNTING AND FISHING DAY IS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28!

HARRISBURG, Pa. (September 26) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is pleased to join with other fish and wildlife conservation agencies across the country to recognize Saturday, September 28, 2019 as National Hunting and Fishing Day!

“As Pennsylvanians, we’re fortunate to have access to year-round, quality fishing opportunities all around us,” said Tim Schaeffer, PFBC Executive Director. “This day is a celebration of our long-standing outdoor traditions and should motivate us to put even more effort into conserving, protecting and enhancing our beloved natural aquatic resources for future generations to enjoy.”

A proclamation from Governor Tom Wolf recognizing National Hunting and Fishing Day stated that “Pennsylvania has a rich and storied tradition of hunting and angling that dates back further than the state itself and carries forward to this day.”
