HOLD UP: The tomboys, butches, and studs are doing this too?

Lying is one thing.

Pretending to be Le***an when you are lowkey sleeping with men is egregious and disgusting!

I have been in that situation and have also had a couple of "Le***an" exes run straight to men after we broke up or when we were having relationship problems. Hmmm 🤔- An odd thing Le***ans to do.

The most recent situation was with a woman who said, "I have always known that I am a Le***an... I am going through a divorce," from a man. It's a long story, but in the end, she was lying. Nothing serious happened between us because I extracted myself from the "romantic" relationship and maintained a friendship once I realized that this is an ongoing sham of hers, and probably her husband's too. They had done this to another woman - but they were all friends; probably some sw***er 💩. Not my lane, not my games! But have at it if it's for you.

We could have been friends only from the jump. She's cool people, but I ended the friendship because the more I recounted things, the more things just did not add up. Just a lot of lies about who she was and her intentions. Really unnecessary! And the emotional manipulation was very hurtful.

What all of these women have in common besides, lying about their sexuality, and not caring about who they hurt in the process, is that they are all femmes.

But WAAAAAIIIT

Today, someone who is part of BLC told me that years ago, she ended a serious relationship with her MASC partner after finding out she was sleeping with a man; and that other people in their small town knew about it.

So many layers here in both her and my situations, especially around non-Le***ans sexualities, acceptance, integrity, etc.

My concern is with Le***ans.

I am wonder what is going on and how can Le***ans protect ourselves from these types of people and this particular kind of deception. A LOT of people think this OK and want to "drag" Le***ans for the audacious expectation that the women we love are not intentionally deceiving us in ways that disrespect who we are, deny our chance to consent, prey on our emotional attachments, and often put us in physical danger.

"According to Newscord, the British media wrote 249 articles in 22 days—188 of those coming in the last days of his life, after he requested to be left alone.

Across the pond, the Telegraph in particular sent a phalanx of writers, editors, and political commentators against Arday, flooding the pages with disparaging articles. In the space of three weeks, the Telegraph published at least a dozen adverse articles and commentaries about Arday. On July 24th, a Telegraph associate editor called Arday “Cambridge’s diversity poster boy” in an article. Annabel Durham called Jason Arday a symptom of “academia’s moral disease” in an August 3rd piece. “A PhD is no longer a sign of brilliance – take it from Dr Arday” reads a headline from a piece from Daniel Sokol in The Telegraph in the hours before Arday’s death. And Stephen Daisely, a day after Arday’s resignation, wrote an article on August 6th with the headline, ‘Jason Arday is proof you reap what you sow”.

And now Arday is dead.

At least nine of the twelve stories were published between August 2 and August 14—less than two weeks. Several appeared after he resigned, a sign that his stepping down was not enough to satiate their bloodlust.
Many of the stories focused on the controversy and the allegations, not his contributions or his scholarship. On Instagram, acaedmic and philosopher Jason Stanley asserted that by completely ignoring Arday’s impact on scholarship, the distorted media narrative is to blame for his death.

It is important to highlight Arday’s impact. But the media harm isn’t just in the ignoring. In fact, I would argue the opposite: Arday’s impact is precisely what made him—and what makes Black intellectuals like him—targets for elimination.

Throughout history, American and British media especially —have repeatedly shown the world their lust for the blood of Black people, especially ones they have deemed to be too powerful or influential for their liking. Black people who transgress the racial hierarchy are targets to be “put back in their place”.
In my online Race, Media and International Affairs class, my students and I examine the history of white media’s role in whipping up or justifying murderous frenzies against newly freed Black people, or African colonial subjects, particularly in the 19th and 20th centuries. In the United States, that often meant lynching, pogroms, and racial massacres; in the British context, it often operated through imperial war and colonial repression.

In the United States in the late 1800s, white newspapers made a habit of justifying lynching, even going so far as to inciting mobs to go after Black people and white abolitionists. Edward Carmack, a Tennessee newspaper editor and later senator, used his newspaper to incite a white mob to attack and destroy the offices of pioneering Black journalist Ida B. Wells. Her “crime”? She had dared call out the white media’s complicity in the wave of lynchings of Black people, including her friend. "

When racist white people lynch Black people, racist white "authorities" (possibly people involved) declare the murders suicides, which every Black person knows isn't true. It's not even an attempted coverup. It's the spit-in-your-face, public shrug at Black death. A reminder that there'll be no justice here. A warning that _______.

Then, something I just found out, if you share a story about white racist people lynching Black people, FB will send you a notice saying that your post is restricted because it contains a reference to self harm, which it does not. It's a way to impede the sharing information about the violence of racism in this country which has as its primary target, Black lives. It's intentional interference with coalition-building and activism. It's not just happening in the U.S. Check out what's happening in India; watch interviews with activist and author Arundhati Roy and you will see there's global playbook of authoritarianism, bigotry, violence (including lynchings), and information suppression.

This year, several Black people have been lynched or otherwise killed while being the sole Black person in the company of white people. I cannot begin to imagine what their families are going through. I don't have "Say her/his name," or "Keep them in your prayers" energy. I have anger, hurt, fears, and decisions to make around that license in my wallet. Not the driver's one issued by my state. The one issued by my county that I never wanted to own.

I have nothing to say to these families, because all words are hollow when your child is killed; inaudible when their killings are long-standing vile traditions of white amusement.

I am grateful for the brave people who stand up for and in allyship with these families trying to get at the truth and justice; who won't let these stories be buried with those lost too soon to white hatred and fragility.

Yet we know that in such cases, justice is almost always thwarted.
Especially at a time when state-sanction, racialized murder is the order of the day, the media and social media are part of the coordinated strategy to suppress and deny information about violence against us, and the squatting intruder in the White House's base supporters include multiple heavily-armed terrorist organizations at the ready to carry out attacks against Black and Brown people. At his orders. Masks replacing robes. Financed by our tax dollars.

I don't know how we gain justice under this regime which revels in Black harm and death. I do know that after centuries of struggle, peaceful protest, and prayer, Black folks—this entire country— should be in a better place. I know that a lot of this is spurred on by white male fragility and their inability to cope with the fact that this country overwhelmingly elected a biracial/Black man to serve as its leader. Twice.

It's wild to me that we still use the phrase "white supremacy" so egregiously. There is the "delusion" of white supremacy. I mean come on! Supreme to WHO? In what ways? Ah... a wraith type of technology. What white folks have historically, always do is maintain their obsession with developing more innovative, efficient, and cruel ways to destroy. The environment, history, information, communities, countries, progress, cultures.

Lives.

In the U.S. that fragility-based obsession has been almost singularly focused on Black people, in part, because we resist. We thrive. We love. We are scared, harmed, and killed. But we are still here - still persisting - still resisting. Most of us still fighting, motivated by the belief that the mythological "America" can be actualized. You know, the one that is for all people.

It can't be.
And it's never even come close to being a reality.

THIS is how "America" was established to work. There are no new anomalies here. We got a few constitutional amendments here and there. But the fact that there was/is a need for amendments... And we are seeing how easy those amendments can be disregarded.

Violent anti-Blackness is not only foundational to this illusion of a democracy, it's central to the mythology of "America," so there has never been serious commitment to ending it here. This is why justice fighters' faces land on FBI Most Wanted lists and former slave owners faces end up on mountains and U.S. currency.

Not that I am a patriot or believe that white men in power have done anything more than destroy everything the have touched, well, even white men who are not I power - but hey, this tracks!
