Dear Facebook Family, AIDS Ride South Africa completed our December 6th ride! The cyclists shared a number of pics from the day please have a look. We cycled as an homage to 94.7 ride that would have taken place at this time if not for COVID-19. The map and route were similar to the 94.7. With help from our cycling repair pros at Cajees Cycle Corner Fatima, Mohammed, Burgh, and the rest of the gang, the bikes got updated, upgraded, and safety checked. World AIDS Day was December 1st. We agree that one day alone is not sufficient to think about HIV and AIDS, nor even the whole AIDS awareness month of December...as people with HIV and AIDS live with this reality 365 days a year. We were able to raise $1320 of our goal of $2000 for the expenses related to this ride. If you're able to help us meet our expenses please do at the link below. We realize this is no easy feat during a pandemic, when we understand many of our traditional supporters are struggling themselves, out of work and so on. At first we thought we shouldn't bother doing this during COVID. But if COVID stops everything then the world loses. As an homage to 94.7 ride that would have taken place at this time if not for COVID-19, ARSA is organizing its own training day-fun day ride for AIDS awareness month. The map and route are included below. With help from our cycling repair pros at Cajees Cycle Corner Fatima, Mohammed, Burgh, and the rest of the gang, we need to refurbish our wheels which have gotten a lot of wear and tear over the last year. While the pandemic had many folks 'move into their fridges' ARSA has been cycling in the background, keeping our legs warm and ready to break out our jerseys in time for World AIDS Day on December 1st. And once again, we need your help to get there. We expect costs for this event to be about $2000 USD. Your donations make it possible for us to make the needed repairs, they oil our chains, and make the rubber of our tires meet the road, gets our gears shifting, our saddles saddling, and our feet pedaling.
