🙏 AND JUST LIKE THAT…WE’RE BACK! 🍎✏️

Tomorrow morning, the halls of Shelby County Catholic School start coming back to life as our teachers and staff return for another school year!

Before the lesson plans, meetings, classroom decorating, schedules, coffee ☕ (lots of coffee 😄), and all the excitement begin, we have one simple request:

Please pray for our SCCS teachers and staff. ❤️

Pray that God gives us wisdom to teach, patience to guide, strength for the challenging days, and hearts big enough to love every child He places in our care.

This year, our theme reminds us of something that has always been at the heart of who we are:

✝️ CHRIST COUNTS AT SCCS! ✝️

He counts in our classrooms.
He counts on the playground.
He counts in how we treat one another.
He counts in the good days and the challenging ones.
And He counts in everything we do.

📚 WELL… HERE WE GO, SCCS! 😄

I hate to be the one to break the news, but the calendar doesn’t lie…

🍎 ONE WEEK until our teachers are back!
🎒 TWO WEEKS until our students are back!

Teachers, I promise I didn’t make the calendar. 😂 And students, don’t worry—you still have two whole weeks to sleep in, stay up too late, and pretend you’ve completely forgotten how to do math!

But truthfully, there’s something pretty exciting about this time of year. Soon the classrooms will be ready, the hallways will be noisy again, backpacks will be everywhere, and SCCS will once again be filled with the energy that only our kids can bring.

And through all of it, we’ll continue doing what makes Shelby County Catholic School special—learning, laughing, growing, taking care of one another, and keeping Jesus at the center of everything we do. ❤️🙏

Enjoy these last days of summer, SCCS families.

We’ll leave the lights on for you… because apparently summer really DOES have to end. 😂

We sent out a message today to everyone who signed up for starting a PTO. In case you missed the sign up or have interest in helping our staff and students. Here is the message from Alex Vaughan

Hello everyone!

Alex Vaughan here!

As summer winds down and we begin preparing for a new school year, we’re excited to introduce a new addition to Shelby County Catholic School—our very own Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)!

Our goal is simple: to be the biggest supporters of our school, teachers, principal, staff, and, most importantly, our students.

Our first PTO meeting will be:

When: Wednesday, August 5
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Where: School gym (I’ll let everyone in through the kitchen doors.)

During the meeting, we’ll discuss the PTO’s goals and expectations, take a look at what’s ahead for the school year, and begin planning a little something special for Back-to-School Night.

We hope you can join us! If you’re unable to attend, we’ll send out an email with a recap of everything we discussed so everyone can stay informed.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there and kicking off a great school year together

ATTENTION PLEASE: Things have been hectic at school with waxing of the floors, new lockers for the first and second graders, unpacking new ELA Curriculum, cleaning the basement, and RAGBRAI. We also put new carpet in the office area, and we haven't had time to get everything put back so we are without the internet at school. The office staff is taking this last week to catch our breath and hit the ground running on Tuesday 28th. So no one is in the office until then. It's never too early to start preparing for another great year at Shelby County Catholic School!

Shelby County Catholic School is excited to announce a few staffing updates for the upcoming school year!

Mrs. Nicki Keane will be joining our family as a general education paraprofessional for Kindergarten and other grades during the school day. She will bring her paraprofessional experience and love for Catholic Education to our school.

Mrs. Jennifer Koesters will be transitioning from paraprofessional to our School Administrative Assistant. She will bring her warm smile and personality to our office.

Mrs. Klein will be transitioning into our Transitional Kindergarten classroom, where her caring heart, experience, and passion for early childhood education will continue to help our youngest learners thrive.

We are also excited to share that Ms. Stephany will be moving into Kindergarten. Ms. Stephany brings over 25 years of Kindergarten teaching experience to this role, and we are blessed to have her knowledge and expertise leading our Kindergarten students.

This transition was thoughtfully made to allow Ms. Stephany the opportunity to receive training and implementation support with our new English Language Arts curriculum, helping strengthen literacy instruction and ensuring continued academic excellence for ALL of our students.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated educators who are always willing to grow, adapt, and put students first. Please join us in supporting and celebrating Mrs. Klein, Ms. Stephany, Mrs. Keane, and Mrs. Koesters in their new roles!
