Today, the Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission is sharing the two middle school winners of the 2021 Friends of THGC Student Contest in Poetry!

Our first winner submitted a poem for the genocide category. From Nolan Middle School (Killeen Independent School District) in Harker Heights, Texas, 8th grader Hailey said, "My poem commemorates the Rwandan genocide because it talks about what happened there and why it was so bad."

When does the school inform a parent that their child is the subject of bullying and even worse assault? My child just informed me that girls were pushing and pulling her hair and the only thing that a teacher did was have her fill out an incident report. This is unacceptable!

Did any parents know it was picture day today? My sixth grader just told me and he had no idea it was today

Our 8th grade Career class is getting information about Early College High School from former Nolan Students and At-Risk Counselor Mr. Helvetius, who are currently attending and working at ECHS.
Tonight, we will also be hosting ECHS in the cafeteria for informational night for parents. The meeting will be from 5:00pm-6:00pm. See yall there! 😀
