Our Williamsburg FFA President Chloe Sawyers and Sentinel Ahna Marlow represented our chapter beautifully during Homecoming tonight! Around here, our students don’t have to choose just one thing, they truly can do it all! From blue jackets to beautiful dresses, these girls make us proud everywhere they go!

Our FFA members had a great time at Field Day at the Whitley County Fairgrounds! We got to learn more about agriculture, participate in hands-on activities, and spend the day with other FFA members. 💙💛

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible!

🎡 Kentucky State Fair—Day 2! 💙💛

Another day filled with lots of fun, lots of steps, and plenty of great memories! A huge congratulations to Madison Goodin for placing 15th in Seed Identification! 🌱🏅 We are so proud of you!

Of course, we couldn’t leave without taking our annual picture with Freddy Farm Bureau! After two busy days at the fair and one long drive home, we are officially worn out, but grateful for the experiences, laughter, and memories made together.

Most importantly, we are incredibly thankful for God watching over us and bringing everyone home safely. 🙏

Until next year, Kentucky State Fair! 🎡🐄💙💛

While everyone else was enjoying the Back-to-School Bash, we were up bright and early and rolling toward the Kentucky State Fair!

Day 1 included two teams competing in Livestock Judging and Dairy Judging. Between competitions, we explored the fair, saw some amazing animals including the cutest floppy eared rabbits, watched a magic show, tackled an obstacle course, and checked out the beautiful floral arrangements our students created on Monday. 🐄🐇🌸

I brought a stroller to haul all our bags and supplies, but apparently it also became the official Williamsburg FFA transportation service. Both Granny and Oliver took turns riding in it! 😂 At this point, we may need to add “stroller driver” to the list of advisor duties.

We even stopped for a nice lunch before rolling into the fair…because hungry teenagers and judging competitions are not a combination anyone wants to experience! 😂

One of our kids also got to experience the State Fair for the very first time, which made the day even more special. The fair is truly a wonderful experience that everyone should have at least once!

After a late dinner, this crew is officially tuckered out and ready for some much needed rest. Tomorrow brings Day 2, featuring our Floriculture Team and Seed Identification competitor! 🌻🌱

Day 1: competed, explored, ate, laughed, walked approximately 47 miles, took turns in the stroller, and somehow made it back to the hotel with everyone accounted for. We’ll call that a success! 💙💛

Congratulations to our Williamsburg FFA members on an outstanding showing at the Laurel County Agricultural Fair Livestock Judging Clinic & Contest!

We are especially proud of:
🏆 Chloe Sawyers – 1st Place Senior Division in Steers
🏆 Zimrie Housekeeper – 2nd Place Junior Division in Steers
🏆 Zimrie Housekeeper – 3rd Place Junior Division in Hogs

A special shoutout also goes to Brody Petrey, who competed for the very first time! While this was his debut contest, he gained valuable experience and skills that will help him continue to grow as a livestock judging competitor. We are excited to watch his progress in future competitions.

The Livestock Judging Clinic & Contest challenged students to evaluate livestock classes using industry standards while developing critical thinking, observation, and decision-making skills. We are incredibly proud of all of our students for representing Williamsburg Independent School with professionalism, dedication, and a willingness to learn.

Our first-ever Williamsburg FFA Executive Team Retreat was one for the books! We hiked to a massive cave, participated in leadership workshops, tackled relay races and team-building challenges, and even stumbled upon the Lorax himself deep in the woods, patiently waiting on the group while “Let It Grow” echoed through the cave! 🌳😂

After a full day of adventure, everyone enjoyed a feast of steaks, grilled chicken, roasted corn, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes—prepared by Mr. and Mrs. Shelley themselves. We ended the night around the fire with s’mores, stories, and plenty of laughter.

The weekend also included colorful tie-dye shirts, a few snakes, more spiders and bug bites than anyone wanted, a handful of scared girls (and maybe a couple of boys 😅), and countless memories.

Most importantly, this retreat strengthened our friendships and leadership skills as we prepare for an exciting year. We can’t wait to see what this executive team accomplishes together!
