Stress emerges as the number one mental challenge for pastors. Here are three areas that cause the most stress for a pastor.

The event is for pastors, church planters, associational mission strategists, student ministers, and church leadership to help them think about leading the church in a comprehensive plan for reaching people.

In Chapter 4 of Lead To Revitalize, Alan Dodson addresses "Preaching to Revitalize." I believe Alan did a great job with this chapter. On page 32 Alan writes, "The congregation will more fully receive the challenge to change when they see that the sermon that is delivered to them has been applied by the deliverer."
Pastors, we should never preach what we don't practice.

Pastors, I encourage you to follow this link and watch Session #1 about Leading Like A Shepherd. If we are going to be effective pastors/shepherds we must remember it is: 1) All about the Sheep; 2) Risk Being Misunderstood; 3) Meet the people where they are.

There is no lack of leadership theories in circulation today. While they are not without value, as Christians we want to ground all that we do in the Word of God. Fortunately for us, Scripture has much to say about leadership. Pastor and author Larry Osborne turns to 1 Peter 5:1–4 to help church l...

In Chapter 3 of Lead To Revitalize, Rob Patterson writes, "Just as there are many contributing factors to cardiovascular disease, there will be a combination of issues that lead to a decline in congregational health."

Such factors might include: sin; Biblical illiteracy; spiritual immaturity; selfishness; contentment; and inward focus. Pastors, what other factors that lead to a decline in congregational health would you add to this list?

In Chapter 2 of Lead to Revitalize, Andy McDonald, quotes S.D. Gordon, who once said, "You can do more than pray, after you prayed, but you can not do more than pray until you have prayed."

He then goes on to suggest Four Prayer Points or Strategies. While I wholeheartedly agree with Andy that prayer is absolutely essential to revitalization, I also know from personal experience, prayer is often the hardest thing to do consistently.
What are your thoughts?
What do you do to be more consistent in your prayer life?

Some good thoughts here by one of my fellow DOM's.

Some good thoughts here by one of my fellow DOM's.

This post offers 4 ministry strategies to help busy pastors to become effective stewards of their time.

In Chapter 1 of Lead To Revitalize, Rob Patterson on page 5 writes, "The only way to shepherd people to depend entirely and exclusively on Chris is to model desperate dependence in our leadership." Later he adds, "What does the current level of desperation of your prayers reveal about where or in whom you are placing your trust?"

Pastors, I know it is tough to shepherd the flock during Covid-19, but if you aren't already doing it I encourage you to begin praying through your church directory. Furthermore, I suspect praying with church members over the phone would mean more to many than we would expect.

Pastors, if you have started reading it yet, I encourage you to pick up the book, Lead To Revitalize that I gave you for Christmas. It is a well written book by a number of our KBC Staff. In the Introduction to the book, Dr. Larry Purcell quotes President Harry Truman. "Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers." Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
