Back in December, this shop popped up for rent. I called on it. I thought about it. Prayed about it. Decided it wasn’t the right time. Told myself maybe next time, or maybe the next place, and at that time I was still thinking I was going back to school come fall. So what was this crazy idea?

Then a few months later, we decided that me going back full time wasn’t what was best for our family. And then May comes, and I’m driving by as the “for rent” sign catches my eye. I feel a tug in my heart. The regret of not jumping on it before. The hope for what this space might become.

Nestled right by the schools and a short walk from downtown, this is the perfect spot.

This space will allow me to keep all my teaching supplies in one spot, offer small groups and learning clubs, and provide lessons with less distractions.

We have started moving in and are definitely in the “it gets worse before it gets better” phase. I can’t wait to be settled and to share this space with you all. Starting June 15th, I will be hosting all of our tutoring sessions from here. If you’re signed up for a Safe Sitter class, those will be at the Harbor Library as originally planned.

I can’t wait to keep growing with you all 🤍

I love teaching. The buzz of energy as the kids fill your classroom. The gasps of lightbulb moments. The laughter we share when one of us (often me) makes a silly mistake. The swell of pride when one of your students hits a moment of growth they’ve been working so hard to achieve. The connection you feel reading a good book together. There is just so much magic in the classroom, and I never want to lose that.

But I am also a mom, and this year home with Margot has been the biggest gift. And it’s been filled with its own moments of magic, too.

As many of you have heard, I’ve resigned from teaching at school. I wish I could teach part-time, but that perfect position just doesn’t exist for me right now. So instead, you’ll find me continuing to grow this business, cheering on and supporting the Rams, and of course, spending time with my favorite little sidekick, Margot.

Stay tuned for all the exciting plans we have in the works! I can’t wait to share them with you!!

Safe Sitter® Essentials | Babysitting Class

This fun, hands-on class prepares students to be safe when home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn through games, role-playing, and even get to practice choking rescue on manikins!

There are still spots available for our Safe Sitter class this Saturday at the Harbor Springs Library!

I truly love this program and its comprehensive approach. Not only do participants learn how to handle real-life babysitting situations, but they also develop valuable professional skills. It’s a wonderful way to help future babysitters feel confident and prepared to manage emergencies, navigate behavior challenges, and even tackle the hard conversations with clients, like what to charge for their time.

Gosh, I hate to be cheesy, but I just can’t help it. I am so grateful for this community that supports me and all of my crazy ideas. When I met with Mike at the library at to pitch a Staycation camp, he jumped right on board without hesitation. He even started to work with his team to help find the funding, so we could offer this to families for free. Together with his team we brought 4 days of programming to the library for 15 local elementary kids who were home for break. It was truly a gift to see this idea come to life!
