🇺🇸 Learning Civics Beyond the Classroom!

Our 9th grade Civics class recently had the opportunity to visit Little Traverse Township Hall, where Kim Porta welcomed our students for a behind-the-scenes look at the election process. Students observed the testing of voting machines and learned more about how elections are conducted.

They also had the unique opportunity to explore historical record books dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s!

We’re grateful to Kim Porta and Little Traverse Township for helping bring classroom learning to life and giving our students a firsthand look at local government and the history of our community. 📚

Our Student Council is sponsoring a Blood Drive, and we need YOUR help!
Every donation has the power to save lives, and by participating, you’re not only helping someone in need but also supporting our school community.

Here’s the goal: If we reach the minimum number of blood donations, our Student Council will receive $250 to help support their future school activities and events! 🎉

What an exciting day at HLCS!

A big thank-you to HLCS parent and Pellston Firefighter, Matt, for arranging a special visit for our Preschool–2nd grade students today! Our students explored the firetruck, learned about fire safety, and even got to hold the water hose!

We were blessed to welcome pastors from 15 local churches to HLCS for a special Pastor Appreciation Chapel! Preschool through 12th grade students gathered together to worship, pray, and honor the pastors who faithfully serve our students, families, and community.
