This Throwback Thursday, we’re looking back at some of the people, teams, students, staff, and moments that have been part of the Harbor Light Christian School story. From Swordsmen on the field to teachers investing in students, these pictures remind us that Harbor Light has always been about people.

People who have served.
People who have sacrificed.
People who have prayed.

🌟 WELCOME TO HARBOR LIGHT, MRS. KUKULSKI! 🌟

We are so excited to welcome our newest kindergarten teacher to the Harbor Light Christian School family! 💙

Mrs. Kukulski is especially excited for the opportunity to teach kindergarten in a place where she can encourage students to grow both Biblically and academically—and she can’t wait to help our youngest learners discover the joy of reading so they can one day read God’s Word for themselves! 📚❤️

For her, teaching has been a calling from the very beginning. “Being a teacher is the only job I can ever remember desiring to have, even when I was a little girl!” She loves working with children and helping them discover new things and skills in God’s world.

Her journey to Harbor Light is also a beautiful story of God’s faithfulness. After praying for several years for an opportunity to relocate back to Michigan, the Lord opened the door for her family to move to Harbor Springs—and brought this opportunity to continue teaching kindergarten along with it. It's amazing to watch the Lord move!

Help us give her a big Harbor Light welcome! We are so thankful God has brought her to our school family, and we can't wait to see the impact she will have on our kindergarten students! 🎉

From our early days of homecoming traditions and volleyball games on a cement floor, to mission trips, school adventures, and the faces of teachers who helped shape Harbor Light Christian School—these photos are a beautiful reminder that God has been faithful through every season.

So many memories. So many students. So many teachers, families, and friends who have been part of the Harbor Light story.

And the best part? The story is still being written.

As we celebrate 40 years of Harbor Light, we’re thankful for the people who came before us, the memories they made, and the legacy they helped build.

Our Senior Leadership Trip is about so much more than seeing new places—it’s about growing in faith, character, and leadership before the school year begins.

Over the past week, our seniors traveled across the country, explored the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, and the Beartooth Mountains, hiked together, and even experienced whitewater rafting and the Cody Rodeo. But the greatest moments weren’t found at the destinations—they were found in the opportunities to grow.

Students spent time studying biblical leadership, discovering their leadership styles and spiritual gifts, serving at Beartooth Camp by helping prepare for future campers, and leading worship and sharing messages during a Sunday church service. They also gathered for a powerful evening of worship and prayer together that will be remembered for years to come.

This trip challenged our seniors to serve others, strengthen their faith, and build lasting friendships as they prepare for their final year at Harbor Light Christian School.

Please continue to pray for this incredible group of students as they step into their senior year, ready to lead with courage, humility, and a heart for Christ.

A new month is here, and we're looking forward to all that God has in store.

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him."

As we get ready for a new school year, we're thankful for God's faithfulness and excited for the opportunities ahead. Our prayer is that this month is filled with joy, peace, and reminders of His goodness—big and small.

Congratulations to Anne Chamberlin, HLCS Class of 2025, winner of our 6th Annual Vehicle Raffle and a brand-new 2026 Chevy Trailblazer!

After returning from YWAM in January, Anne has faithfully volunteered at HLCS—and she purchased just ONE raffle ticket this year!

“When I heard that I won the car, I was shocked! What a blessing! Just that morning I had laid down my fears of the unknown future to God, and then He blessed me with a brand-new car. I felt like that was the Lord saying, ‘I will provide for you, as you’ve placed your trust in Me.’”

What a special reminder of God’s faithfulness and provision! ❤️
