The Department of Geography at Dartmouth College seeks to appoint one non-tenure track Lecturer. Applicants should specialize in critical human geography and be prepared to teach introductory and mid- to upper-level courses in urban, feminist and cultural geography.

This position is full time, non-remote, in-residence at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, with start date of September 1, 2026. The expected teaching effort is 5 courses spread over three 10-week quarters (at least one per term), plus some advising of students in the Honors Program (for the equivalent of 1 additional course). This position comes with a competitive salary and benefits. The initial appointment will be for one year with possibility of renewal.

Required: PhD in Geography or a closely related field, by the start date. Scholars who are currently ABD are welcome to apply, provided that they will have their PhD conferred by the start date. Dartmouth can provide J-1 visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.

The Department of Geography at Dartmouth College invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow in Human Geography. This two-year position will augment and complement existing departmental strengths, which include critical urban and health studies, Black geographies, feminist geographies, and nature-society relations.

This position is full-time, non-remote, in-residence at Dartmouth in Hanover, NH, with a start date as early as July 1, 2025. Advised and hosted in the Department of Geography, the postdoctoral researcher is expected to contribute intellectually to the department and Dartmouth, and to teach two 10-week long courses over two years.

Qualifications: PhD, or ABD with degree received by the start date, in Geography or a closely related field.

We are proud to celebrate Janice Kai Chen '20 who recently completed a rigorous interdisciplinary Senior Fellowship on the geography of milk.

Give a rouse to Alyssa Loyless '17, recipient of a Fulbright Award! Alyssa received the Fulbright to study the peripheral temple sites and cultural features of Sambor Prei K*k, Cambodia. Alyssa will be creating realistic 3D models in order to digitally preserve the brick temples of Sambor Prei K*k for future use by researchers and succeeding generations of archaeologists. She will also be mapping and analyzing the core of the urban area using GIS. This research builds on the work she is conducting during her current Master's dissertation at the University of York on remotely mapping the cultural features, such as temples and housing settlements, of Sambor Prei K*k using lidar data collected from the Cambodian Archaeological Lidar Initiative.
