One Call Concepts, Inc. commissioned Paul Junior Designs to build the 811 Bike to help promote awaren Junior, it was inevitable that working with Paul Jr.

Tom Hoff, founder, President and CEO of One Call Concepts (OCC), was looking for a unique way to convey the message of damage prevention. OCC was nearing its 30th anniversary in business. “The 811 Bike really grew out of a sincere desire to give something meaningful back to the industry that has supported our employees and customers for so much of my professional life,” Hoff says, “Getting the 811

Bike built was the easiest part of the process. The hardest part was figuring out just what the ‘something’ was.”

One sleepless night, Hoff found his inspiration. “Like a lot of boys who grew up in America when I did, I was fascinated by cars, motorcycles and just about any kind of mechanized transportation,” he says. “That attraction stayed with me as I got older. I was a dyed-in-the-wool gearhead and found myself watching those ‘how they do it’ shows on cable. When I came across American Chopper, I was hooked.” With that realization, the idea for the 811 Bike was born. “In hindsight, it should have been obvious. Given the tremendous popularity of American Chopper: Senior vs. on a damage prevention themed bike would be a great way to reach a new audience about the importance of knowing what’s below before you dig.”

National 811 Day was celebrated by damage prevention stakeholders across the country on 8/11/2026, and the 811 Bike and Trike had the honor of joining Washington Gas for a celebration in Springfield, VA.

Safety was discussed, games were played, and grilled burgers and hot dogs were enjoyed. The 811 Bike and Trike also sparked excitement about , giving many attendees their first look at the one-of-a-kind ride.

And there’s even more to look forward to: 811 Day celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2027! We’re already gearing up for another year of spreading on the road to .

The 811 Bike and Trike traveled July 27 to 29, 2026, for the National Conference of State Legislatures Summit in Chicago, IL.

We joined familiar 811 safety companies in the DPAC, AKA Damage Prevention Action Center, including AT&T, JULIE1call, One Call Concepts, Inc., CGA Connect, and others. T-shirts were created, games were played, and the safety message to call 811 before you dig was emphasized. Lots of questions about 811 were answered while the 811 Bike and Trike details and beautiful design captured attention.

The 811 Bike, Trike, and trailer traveled across the country in anticipation of the April 2026 CGA Connect Conference and Expo held at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. While traveling, we saw spring beginning, with everyone in shorts and sandals, tornado warnings, hail, rain, high winds, wildfire ash, and even snow expected. What an adventure on the road to damage prevention for One Call Concepts, Inc.!

The conference had many visitors checking out the bike, trike, and trailer displaying Corvette pictures. We have new bike lights, which were a hit for everyone who enjoys Colorado mountain biking and kids alike. The Trio Koosies were upsized to keep bottle drinks cold, which was greeted with delight. The theme this year was "Charting the Course," which was highlighted with maps and mapping tools on the OCC letters. The OCC booth was a stop on the scavenger hunt, with many attendees stopping at both booths. Fun and safety conversations were had by all!

April 16, 2026, was 90 degrees instead of Spring temperatures at in Neptune, NJ. The New Jersey Natural Gas had lunch, grilling, and booths with fun giveaways, all promoting 811 safe digging practices. The 811 trailer, bike, and trike brought excitement, seeing the work of Paul Jr. Designs up close, where NJ now has a shop for fans of his talented designs. It was a great afternoon for our 2nd year, and looking forward to next year!

Heading to Colorado next week for the 2026 CGA Conference & Expo. Look for us traveling across the US on the road to damage prevention!
