On behalf of the South Western Mustang Baseball program, we would like to extend our sincere congratulations and appreciation to Scott Anderson on an outstanding coaching career as he officially steps away after nearly 40 years of dedication to high school athletics.

Coach Anderson has been a respected leader in York-Adams athletics for decades, spending his career serving student-athletes in the sports of football, wrestling, and baseball. Since 2001, he has led the New Oxford High School baseball program with pride, consistency, and a deep commitment to his players and school community.

The impact Coach Anderson has made reaches far beyond the field. His leadership, passion, and dedication to mentoring young athletes have earned the respect of so many throughout the area, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to be felt for years to come.

From all of us at South Western Mustang Baseball, congratulations on an incredible coaching career and thank you for everything you have given to your players, your school, and the game.

It is with sadness to say that the 2026 Mustang Baseball Season has came to an end with a 5-4 loss to the defending 6A PIAA State Champions, Cedar Cliff Colts.

Despite the hostile environment, the Mustangs put up a valiant fight but ultimately came up on the short end.

This season won't be forgotten any time soon. The Mustangs rebounded from a 2-18 campaign in 2025 as the team came together as a collective group of young men and finished the 2026 season with a record of 17-7, the 2nd most single season wins in school history and captured the YAIAA Championship.

To our 5 graduating seniors ... THANK YOU, for leading the way and helping this years team ! You guys have a lot to be proud of as your dedication to the team and program has paved the way and will serve as an appetizer for what the coming years have in store.

To all of our returning players, take a few days to wrap up the school year, but then it's back to work with relentless focus on self improvement, as we head into 2027. The ground work has been laid and Mustangs will be back and better than ever!

Raising a baseball player is a thankless job ...

⚾️ packing food, snacks, Gatorade and waters!

⚾️ bringing the sun screen

⚾️ making sure all the equipment is packed

⚾️ late night laundry and cussing the coaches who wear WHITE PANTS on Sunday

⚾️ early morning wake up calls

⚾️ hugs after wins

⚾️ hugs after losses

It all goes without saying ... THANK YOU!

2026 Y.A.I.A.A Champions

The South Western Mustangs show toughness, grit and determination to capture the final YAIAA Baseball Championship with a 6-5 win over a very good Bermudian Springs Eagles!

The Mustangs took an early 5-3 lead thanks to Braden Wolf recording 2 hits, including a big 1st inning triple!

Bermudian wouldn't go away and in the top of the 7th the Eagles scratched across 2-runs and tied the game!

In the top of the 9th, Noah Beal worked a Houdini like performance and escaped a BASES LOADED, 0 OUT JAM, allowing 0 RUNS to score!

Then in the bottom of the 9th, the Stangs loaded the bases themselves with 0 Outs, and Seth Sullivan delivered the final blow with a hit to CF as the Mustangs walked it off!

The Mustangs advance to the YAIAA County Championship Game with a doubleheader SWEEP of Biglerville 4-2 and Kennard Dale 5-1

The Stangs advance to the Championship game for the first time since 2010, when they beat Bermudian Springs and as fate would have it, they will have to go through Bermudian again this Saturday!

- Charlie Miller
Threw 3 IP in Game 1, and 1 IP in Game 2, allowing 0 Hits

- Braden Wolf
Threw 4 IP in Game 2, 1 H and 4 Ks

- Seth Sullivan
Went 3 for 6 on the day, and pitched 2 IP, 2 H and 2 Ks to get the Save in Game 2
