We have some TREE-mendous news!

Hoffman Homes has been selected as one of two nonprofit beneficiaries of The Barn Resort's 2026 Festival of Trees!

We’re so excited to be part of this festive community tradition alongside the 4-H Clubs of Adams County. This holiday season, every vote for a favorite tree will help raise funds to support both organizations!

Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing more details as the Festival gets closer!

Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🍎💛

Today, we’re celebrating the teachers who help kindness, confidence, and possibility grow every day at Hoffman Academy.

Our students have been creating a Kindness Tree—adding leaves filled with kind words, thoughtful actions, and caring gestures. 🍃 Each one is a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a BIG difference.

And behind moments like these are teachers who encourage, guide, celebrate progress, and create spaces where young people can learn what it means to care for themselves and one another.

On World Teachers’ Day, we’re especially grateful for the incredible educators at Hoffman Academy and the difference they make—one lesson, one encouraging word, and one act of kindness at a time. 💛

Kindness grows when we share it—and great teachers help it take root. 🌳✨

You know those days when your brain just won’t slow down? You’re thinking about what happened yesterday, what you need to do tomorrow, and ten other things that seem to be pulling you in different directions.

When your mind gets that crowded, it can be hard to know what to focus on first. And sometimes, before you try to sort through everything, it helps to give your mind a moment to settle.

Here’s something simple you can try:

Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste.

It’s called the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique. It gives your mind something in the present moment to focus on instead of everything competing for your attention.
And if your mind wanders halfway through? That’s okay. Just pick up where you left off.

Whatever is weighing on you doesn’t have to be figured out all at once. Give yourself a little room to breathe, find your footing, and take the next thing as it comes.

And maybe save this one somewhere. You might not need it today—but on a day when everything feels like a little too much, you’ll know where to find it.

Community partners make a difference! 💙🐴

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the amazing volunteers from Cargill Gettysburg who recently spent their time working alongside our team in Hoffman Homes’ Equine Therapy area!

This hardworking group helped place new footing throughout our indoor equine arena—an important improvement to the space where our horses and team support the individuals we serve. Their willingness to roll up their sleeves and tackle such a big project made an incredible impact.

And their generosity didn’t stop there! Cargill also donated wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, and other tools to Hoffman Homes, providing resources that our team will continue to use long after volunteer day is over.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners who give not only their resources, but also their time, energy, and hearts to our mission. Thank you, Cargill Gettysburg, for making a difference at Hoffman Homes! 💚

Some words stay with you.

Recently, the father of an individual discharging from Hoffman Homes shared a heartfelt message with our team. His words are a meaningful reminder of why the care, compassion, and dedication our staff provide everyday matter so deeply.

“I am more than grateful for every staff member who has worked with my daughter, supported her, and helped guide her and our family through everything we have faced.”

He expressed his gratitude not only for the safety and care his daughter received, but also for the support, guidance, and skills that she can carry with her as she moves forward.

“The impact you have had on her and our family is something I will always be grateful for.”

And perhaps the words that mean the most are the ones he left our team with:

“Your kindness, compassion, patience, and dedication have made a lasting difference, and we will never forget it.”

To every Hoffman Homes staff member who played a part in this family’s journey—thank you. The work you do extends far beyond a single day, a single interaction, or even a discharge. It becomes part of the strength, skills, and support individuals and families carry forward with them.

And to this father and his family, thank you for trusting Hoffman Homes with someone you love and for taking the time to share what her care meant to your family.
