This page is to inform students, parents, faculty and the community about events happening at South Western High School. The Parent Advisory Board's purpose is to learn about the academic program in order to enhance communication between the school and the community and to lend moral, ethical and motivational support. Purpose : The purpose of our

page is to provide an online community for parents and families at South Western High School. Goal: Our goal is to share information and tips, update the community on events and programs, and showcase the achievements of SWSD students, teachers, parents, and other community members. Community Rules


We encourage comments that highlight our community’s accomplishments. Children can see our page (or group). Do not comment about concerns, problems, or conflicts with individual teachers, administrators, students,school district policies or parents. We will immediately delete posts or comments that in any way put down or discriminate against individuals. Online threats will be taken seriously, and proper authorities will be immediately notified. Do not comment information commonly understood as confidential, such as student grades. Any inflammatory statements that make allegations against individuals or organizations will be deleted. Keep in mind what you comment is public information. Any advertising for businesses is not allowed. The Parent Advisory Board does not advertise or endorse any fundraisers that are done by private entities or individuals. All Fundraisers advertised by the PAB must be done through SWSD buildings, organizations or individuals approved by SWSD or SWHS. Do not publish content as your own that has been created by others. The PAB board and PAB Facebook administrators reserve the right to delete comments and block users who are not following the rules stated above.

Please consider dining out for a cause on Tuesday, December 12 at Genova's in South Hanover (Grandview Plaza). Marianne Taylor is hosting a Skip the Kitchen Night to raise money for the Wes Taylor Memorial Scholarship (through Dollars for Scholars).

Wes was a student who attended West Manheim, EHMMS, and SW HS. He graduated in 2019 and died by su***de in 2020. On Tuesday, Wes would be 23 years old. Wes's father Mike, passed away in 2016 from lung cancer (even though he never smoked) and Wes was an only child. The scholarship goes to any student applying to a four-year institution in the field of mental health/helping professions.

I hope to see you at Genova's on Tuesday! Be sure to bring an email or printout of the flyer.

Our next Parent Advisory Board meeting is Monday 3/6 at 7pm in the library. Our Spotlight presentation will be on the high school renovations presented by Nate Osborne, Director of Facilities. We look forward to seeing you there!
