Yesterday, a couple of our talented HCTC Cosmetology students had the opportunity to give back to the community by providing free haircuts at the Back-to-School event held at the Admiral Coontz Armory.

We are so proud of our students for sharing their skills, professionalism, and kindness to help local families get ready for the new school year. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported our students, and to the event organizers for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful community event.

Way to represent HCTC—you made a difference, one haircut at a time!

Meet Donna Carlson, a wonderful substitute at Hannibal Public School District #60. She was asked her favorite thing about being a substitute and she answered, “There are many favorites for me about being a substitute. The youthful energy is amazing, students are always very polite and ask about my day, the teachers have meaningful work, and the greetings from the staff make me feel welcome. What is not to enjoy!”

Thank you for all you do Donna!!

Congratulations to our April Student of the Month, Chase Askey! 🎉

Chase was nominated by Mrs. Endicott for his outstanding work ethic and positive attitude in class. He consistently comes to class prepared, ready to work, and gives his best effort every day.

In addition to this honor, Chase was also selected as our HCTC Student of the Year! We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and the example he sets for others.

Student Spotlight! ♟️

Bethany Devlin created a full set of chess pieces in Mr. Gander’s CNC Machining class. Using a Mazak Lathe and CNC machine, Bethany designed and crafted these beautiful pieces as a special gift for her dad.

Her hard work, precision, and creativity truly showcase the talent, and skills students are developing in our machining program. Great job, Bethany! 👏

The Class of 2026 Giving Back in a Big Way ❤️🏴‍☠️

As part of the Pirate Pride Day of Caring, students are hosting a “Stuff the Bus” food drive, and they need your help to reach their goal, to collect 2,026 pounds of food to support local families and pantries this summer.

📍 Donations can be dropped off at Hannibal High School (7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
🚌 Look for the bus out front—every item goes directly toward making a difference right here in our community.

This effort supports local partners and helps ensure families have access to food when school is out.
Let’s rally behind the Class of 2026 and show what it means to be Proud.
