Congratulations to our new FBLA officers for the 26-27 school year. Thank you to our former officers! We had an amazing group of officers this year that helped us achieve Gold status and organized great activities for our members to be involved in. Thank you also for the retirement gift!

Avril Collier and Greta Welch did an amazing job as Prosecuting Attorney and Defense Attorney with some help from local practicing attorneys! Thank you all for helping reinforce what my students learned in classes from Business Law to Legal Term.

It was another incredible state leadership conference with my students! Our students had opportunities and made memories. That’s my goal! We also were able to showcase their talents. I would like to introduce next years FBLA advisor Monica Clayton. I will still be available to help if needed. Monica will be great!

At our second awards ceremony on Monday it was nice to see two of our students awarded for their 200 and 500 hours of community service!

It’s a special day! We have two students eligible to represent Missouri in San Antonio, Texas at FBLA Nationals! Special, because these are the same two students I was able to take to Nationals two years ago in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations to Preston Hart for his success in Computer Applications and to his computer teacher Darla Brocksmith. Congratulations to Greta Welch for her success in Future Business Leader. I am so proud of these two and all of my kids!

FBLA has made a huge impact on my life. At Hannibal-LaGrange I was involved on the collegiate level of this organization-Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). I had the honor of representing the state of Missouri in Mr Future Business Leader. This opportunity gave me so many opportunities. It has been so fulfilling being a part of giving students opportunities like I received and traveling with them to District, State, and National competitions. Thank you John Schafer for getting me involved in PBL. Darla Brocksmith, thank you for mentoring me and assisting me with FBLA. It takes a team of students and colleagues to be a gold chapter. Thanks for many great years, it has been a pleasure.

A lot of reasons to celebrate our students. Sunday night was one of three awards ceremonies. Business Achievement Awards were won by Lizzie Wellman and Preston Hart. Community Service Awards were won by Lizzie Wellman and Greta Welch. Greta is a finalist for the Future Business Leader and will go to the final round Monday morning. Preston was awarded Outstanding Service in Local Chapter. We were once again named a Gold Chapter. This means we earned over 9,000 points! Attaining this level is a lot of work and a lot of community service! Way to go! Stay posted, we are invited to a special awards ceremony today to honor our students work.
