Here are three things every singer should do to make sure 2024 is a great singing year:

1. Think about what you want to do with your singing in the coming year. Is there a certain song you hope to sing, group you hope to audition for, performance that you hope to delight in, or vocal challenge you hope to triumph over?

2. Consider what steps you want to take to make sure those things happen. Do you want to set aside a certain amount of practice time every week or month? Do you want to get a couple of voice lessons to find the best path forward? Do you want to set up accountability with a friend to make sure you stay on track?

3. Set a goal to help you focus. There are lots of frameworks you can use, but my favorite is the SMART method. Try to set a goal for your situation that is SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Bound).

If you keep it simple, a little intentionality and a little action will go a long way to making 2024 your best singing year yet.
