Attention all racers, creators, and fall lovers! The 4th Annual Deb Mann Memorial Pumpkin Races are back! 🎃🏎️

Get your pumpkins prepped, your wheels tuned, and your creative caps on. It is time for a day of thrilling races!

When: Saturday, October 24th; Races Start at 12PM with prizes being awarded after the last Heat
Where: Quincy Green In Hancock

There will be a Mechanics Table for any last minute adjustments needed on Racers, so get there early!

Bring the whole family out to cheer on the racers, enjoy the autumn festivities, and support a great cause. Proceeds from this year's event will be split between the Deb Mann Memorial Scholarship & CAPE to continue Deb's legacy of giving back to our community.

Dear CAPE Families,

We want to share an important community update regarding the upcoming Hancock Library millage vote.

The proposed 0.7 millage is an exceptional value for our community, costing less than $40 per year for the median residence within the library district. To put that into perspective, purchasing an out-of-district membership to the Portage Lake District Library (PLDL) costs $110 annually. Supporting this local millage keeps high-quality library resources affordable and accessible right here in our district.

How You Can Help: Volunteer for Get Out The Vote (GOTV)
The library campaign would absolutely love to have CAPE families join their grassroots team. If you or your teenagers are looking for volunteer hours or want to support the campaign's Get Out The Vote efforts, please reach out!

Thank you for enjoying Bridgefest with us! Despite the harsh winds, we had a great time at Kids on the Green and the volleyball tournament, and it was an honor to participate in the parade for the first time. Here’s a recap of everywhere CAPE was during Bridgefest!
We kicked off Bridgefest at Kids on the Green, where we set up two obstacle courses for visiting children. The kids were super excited to learn the ropes of the courses and set faster and faster times for clearing them, while our summer associates cheered them on and offered tips on improving their times. We were also pleased to offer tours of the newly renovated Quincy Garage Makerspace, where we previewed some of the resources that will be available to workshop members, including woodworking tools and laser engraver. More information will be available on the official opening of the workshop at a later date!
Later that day, we marched in the Bridgefest Parade for the first time. It was a joy to see all of the families and attendees lining the streets, and we got to hand out lots of fun treasures to the kids while spreading the word about our innovative educational programs. Thank you to everyone who came out to see us and cheer us on!
The next day, we hosted our volleyball tournament! Even though the strong winds left us unable to play on Chutes and Ladders Beach, we were able to keep the fun going at a different location, thanks to Martin Gordon for allowing us to play on their property. We would also like to thank Lydia Williams for refereeing the games, and give congratulations to the Wonderwall for winning the tournament! Unfortunately, we were unable to set up our bouncy castles at Chutes and Ladders.. BUT We have plans to bring it out at a later event, so stay tuned!

We're excited to offer a preview of an upcoming new makerspace opening soon in the Hancock Community Hub! The Quincy Garage will be a space where people from all across the community can come together to work on projects and express their creativity, with a well-stocked array of tools and resources available to makers of all levels of experience. Come take a peek during Kids on the Green on Friday, June 12 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.!
