Nursing Program Application Requirements:
Associate Degree Nursing (RN) and Practical Nursing (LPN)
Please Note: New Nursing curriculum and entry process begins Fall 2016

(Applications will continue to be accepted on a space available basis; late applications will be reviewed in order of date Verification Sheet received
in the nursing office.)
• Complete and submit the online application at www.wallacestate.edu/nursing. Online Application Instructions are under the Application to Program tab.
• Online applications are active March 15 – May 15 only; Spring online applications are active July 1 – September 1 only.
• Upon completion of the online application, all applicants are required to submit a Verification Sheet with all necessary documentation attached. The Verification Sheet, along with full instructions, can be found on Page 3 of the Online Application Instructions.
• Verification Sheet Attachments Include:
Unofficial copies of transcripts from each college previously attended. Copy of ACT composite score. Minimum score of 18 required for all candidates - no exceptions (writing section not required). Please note: we do not accept TEAS test scores. As a condition of acceptance, applicant must also:
• Official college transcripts from each college previously attended must be on file at WSCC Admissions.
• A minimum of 2.5 GPA based on nursing required academic courses is required. Additionally, a grade of “C” or better must be earned in ALL academic courses.
• A minimum of 2.5 GPA cumulative high school GPA for students without prior college courses is required (GED will be used if applicable).
• Meet the essential functions for nursing.
• Be eligible for ENG 101 and MTH 100.
• Submit to a background check as well as alcohol/drug testing from specified vendor at a time/place to be designated by the Department of Nursing Education. PRACTICAL NURSING OPTION
• At the completion of the third semester of nursing curriculum, students are permitted to step out and take the NCLEX-PN licensing exam. MOBILITY OPTION (LPN TO RN CANDIDATES)
• Mobility applications for NUR 201 are accepted for Fall and Spring. Mobility applicants must list an active Alabama LPN license number with expiration date. A copy of license (front and back) must be attached to the Verification Sheet. PREVIOUSLY IN A NURSING PROGRAM OR TRANSFER OPTION
• If previously enrolled in a nursing program, the nursing program director must submit a Letter of Good Standing (LGS) on your behalf. LGS must be sent directly to: Deborah Hoover, Director of Nursing, via email at [email protected].
