🎙️ Meet the Voices of the Hawks! 🦅
After receiving several great responses from people interested in serving as this year’s football announcers, we had the difficult task of making a selection. We want to sincerely thank everyone who reached out and expressed a willingness to volunteer their time and talent. Your love for Hanahan Athletics is what makes this community so special.
We’re excited to announce that Travis Dodd will serve as the Voice of the Hawks this football season, with Jonathan Sabback joining him as color commentator and sideline support.
🎤 Travis Dodd
A proud Hanahan High School Class of 2003 graduate, Travis was the Hawks’ kicker and punter during the 2001 and 2002 seasons. He later returned to Hanahan as the School Resource Officer from 2010-2015, where he had the opportunity to learn from legendary announcers Ric Raycroft and Steve Childers.
Today, Travis continues his family’s Hanahan tradition with two children involved in athletics—his son Lendon, a varsity football player, and his daughter Madie, a varsity cheerleader.
His announcing experience includes:

If you’ve ever attended a Hanahan game, chances are you’ve already heard Jonathan! A Class of 2003 Hanahan graduate, former standout athlete, and proud Hawk Award recipient, Jonathan is known for his unmatched school spirit and passion for Hanahan Athletics.
As the self-proclaimed “Ultimate Cheer Dad,” Jonathan and his family have spent years supporting Hanahan students, raising thousands of dollars for the cheer program and Renaissance through pageants, volunteering in concessions, and cheering on our student athletes every step of the way.
Fun fact: Twenty-three years after Jonathan earned the Hawk Award, his daughter HayLi, Varsity Cheer Captain and Class of 2026 graduate, received the very same honor… a testament to their family’s incredible Hawk pride.
