We are proud to announce this year’s Desi Lanio Memorial ELO Scholarship recipients:

Alex Frost - Alex will be attending the New Hampshire School of Mechanical Trades and hopes to one day become a Master Electrician. He has already secured an apprenticeship with Parsons Electric.

Laythan Duchene - Laythan will be attending Great Bay Community College in the fall to study Psychology. Congratulations Laythan!

Baylee Jacobs - Baylee will be attending Trinity College in the Fall and studying Neuroscience and Behavior on the Pre-Med Track.

Drew Brown - Drew plans to attend Lakes Region Community College for fire science in hopes to one day become a firefighter.

Congratulations to Alex, Laythan, Baylee and Drew, and the entire class of 2023!.

Each year, the Professional Firefighters of Hampton, Local 2664 awards a scholarship to one Winnacunnet senior who has chosen to pursue an education in a field dedicated to helping others. Our recent recipients have been students in nursing, physical therapy, emergency medicine and of course, fire science. This year we are very fortunate to have worked with this individual for the last several months through the ELO intern program at WHS.

He has shown an excellent work ethic, a strong desire and willingness to learn and a true dedication to the fire service and his community. We feel that these attributes will lead not only to his success in school, but to his being a valuable asset to any fire department fortunate enough to have him as a member in the future.

On behalf of the members of Local 2664, we are very proud to award this year's scholarship to Drew Brown.

Our students and other high school students from the Seacoast area received their certificates for successfully completing The New Hampshire School of Mechanical Trades introductory course today! Thank you to the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce - Hampton, NH for securing the funding to make this happen! These students are now off to explore electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/Oil Heat careers.

Senior Emily Leblanc’s ELO is to continue the restoration, maintenance, and improvement of her 1992 Mazda Miata MX-5 (1.6l). This includes, but is not limited to; body work, mechanical work, electrical work, vehicle modifications, etc. The car is older, and the main goal is to restore it to a stable condition before continuing into performance improvements. “Gaining general automotive knowledge during this process is also a main focus, as this will pertain to my future career choices.”
