Candy, energy drinks, soft drinks with added sugar, and other sweetened beverages will no longer be eligible for purchase with SNAP benefits. Hampton County First Steps was overjoyed to participate in the 2026 Hampton County Sheriff's Office National Night Out & Back-to-School Event held on Tuesday, August 4th. This event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with families, promote kindergarten readiness as well as strengthen community partnerships!

We extend our sincere appreciation to Deputy Butcher for the invitation to this outstanding event. HCFS remains dedicated to fueling and inspiring children emotionally, socially, and physically to achieve their personal best in school through collaboration with parents, caregivers, and the community. Thanks to our volunteer Jordan Nelson for helping us out.
