October is National Farm to School Month, and Farm to CACFP Week is coming up October 18–24, 2026! It’s a time to celebrate the connections happening all over the country between children and local food!

The South Carolina Farm to Early Care and Education (ECE) Program champions children’s health and learning by connecting early care programs with local farmers, fresh foods, and hands-on agriculture education.

Our HIPPY Parent Kickoff was filled with learning, laughter, creativity and lots of Pete the Cat fun! Families had an opportunity to experience firsthand how simple engaging activities can turn everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences. Parents and children worked together on hands on activities that encouraged, fine motor development, early literacy, sensory exploration, counting and more. The highlight of the evening was a visit from Pete the Cat himself singing and dancing with the kids!

A special thank you to our HIPPY families, our staff and everyone who helped make our kickoff possible. We are excited about the journey ahead and look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing. Hampton County First Steps is yippie for HIPPY! Awesome job ladies!!
