🍂🎃 October Staff Members of the Month! 🎃🍂

There’s nothing spooky about it… these two are simply BOO-tiful examples of what makes The Hive so special! 🐝🧡 We are excited to recognize Mrs. Laura Brunson and Mrs. Michelle Jacobs as our October Staff Members of the Month!

🍁 Laura Brunson – 1st Grade Teacher
Mrs. Brunson goes above and beyond every single day to provide her first graders with top-tier, high-quality instruction while making sure they know just how loved and cared for they are. ❤️ First grade can be a big transition, and Mrs. Brunson does an incredible job helping her students grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. She intentionally teaches self-regulation and SEL skills, creating a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. She is truly a ROCKSTAR teacher, and we are so thankful she is part of our Hive! 🐝⭐

🎃 Michelle Jacobs – Interim 3rd Grade ELA & Social Studies Teacher
Mrs. Jacobs is so much more than a substitute—she has truly come back home to The Hive! 🐝💛 She stepped into our 3rd grade classroom and immediately went above and beyond, providing high-quality instruction, strong organization, and consistent procedures for our students. She has spent countless hours learning curriculum, studying, planning, and preparing so that our third graders continue receiving the instruction they deserve. Her dedication and willingness to step up in such a BIG way have been an incredible blessing to our students, staff, and school!

🐝➗ Hands-On Math in 4th Grade! ✖️🍯

Who says manipulatives are just for the little ones? Not at the Hive! 💛🖤

Mrs. Pitman’s 4th graders are getting hands-on with multiplication and factors, using manipulatives to build, model, and SEE the math behind the numbers! 🧮✨

Using i-Ready Classroom Mathematics, Mrs. Pitman incorporates Math Toolkits and manipulatives every day to help students move beyond simply memorizing a procedure to truly understanding WHY the math works.

Because even our big kids learn best when they can touch it, build it, model it, and explain it! 🐝💡

🍎📚 Learning is Sweet in Pre-K! 🍎📚

Our Pre-K students had a fun-filled day exploring how apples grow! Mrs. Stuckey from Clemson Extension Services- Hampton County Rural Health and Nutrition started by reading a story about apples and the journey from seed to tree. Then, they put their taste buds to work with an apple taste test and discovered that different apples have different flavors.

The learning continued with exciting apple-themed games that kept students engaged while reinforcing what they learned. Hands-on experiences like these help make learning meaningful, memorable, and lots of fun!

We had a great day celebrating “Dolly Day” on 9/25. The Woot Woot Wagon traveled the hallways with cups of ambition (Alani and Soft Drinks with cookies)💗💗💗
