Last week, we wrapped up our World Extremes summer!

Our students explored the Atacama Desert, Mariana Trench, Antarctica, Mount Everest, and the Amazon Rainforest. Each destination became a backdrop for building language, literacy, and math skills. We love how integrated thematic units make learning meaningful and memorable.

Thank you to our wonderful students and dedicated staff for making this summer so special.

We hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer, and we can't wait to welcome our students back in September!

Over the past several months, students worked together to design, build, test, and improve this incredible LEGO engineering creation. Along the way, they met challenges with creative problem-solving and learned that success often comes through persistence and flexible thinking.

We are proud of the dedication and effort they showed from start to finish.

A special thank you to Jason for leading this project from start to finish and for guiding students through every challenge along the way.

Our final Captured in Clay stop-motion premiere is The Magical Quest.

Student-written caption: When a snowman runs into danger, who will save him? When things get hot, who is by his side? An ordinary creature does the extraordinary. A magical friendship is formed through danger and caring.

Through clay animation, students brought their story to life frame by frame — combining creativity, storytelling, planning, and perseverance along the way.

We are so proud of the imagination and hard work that went into each student-created film in our Captured in Clay project!

Our next Captured in Clay stop-motion feature tells the story of a man living in a black-and-white world whose life changes when he discovers a mysterious blue object.

Students planned, photographed, and animated every scene while bringing their original ideas to life frame by frame.

Student-written caption:
A man walking in a world of black and white changes when he finds a mysterious blue object. He curiously picks up the magical piece of paper that changes his life and the way he looks at the world.

Stop-motion animation came to life at Lexington Academy!
Students completed original clay animation projects from start to finish — developing stories, writing scripts, building storyboards, creating backdrops, sculpting characters, and photographing each frame to bring their ideas to life.
This project combined creativity, sequencing, planning, photography, writing, and problem-solving in meaningful hands-on ways.
Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing a few student-created videos from our Captured in Clay project!

Today we had some special visitors at Lexington Academy — chicks!

Students learned about chicks while also applying concepts from our measurement unit in meaningful, hands-on ways. We explored:
• Weight in ounces by comparing how much different chicks weighed
• Length in inches by measuring body length and wings

There was a lot of excitement, curiosity, and careful measuring throughout the day!

Our students stepped into the roles of inventors, historians, and engineers – delivering speeches, sharing simulations, and showcasing hands-on models inspired by groundbreaking ideas. From bold idea to confident presentations, our students’ creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving were on full display. Today’s Innovation Fair was a true celebration of curiosity, perseverance, and the power of ideas. Congratulations to all of our students!
