Electronic Devices:

Last year new STATE laws were put into affect. I am sending a reminder of the policy on personal cell phones and smart watches.

Pender County Schools provides every child with a Chromebook, therefore personal technology devices are not approved for use at school. All personal cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, etc must be turned off and stored in the child’s backpack during the school day. If a device proves to be a distraction or is used during the school day, it can be confiscated. Please refer to PCS Board Policies 3220, 3221, 3225, 3226, and 4318 for policies related to student technology usage. Parents, please help us by not messaging your student during the school day. If there is an emergency, you may contact the office and we will be happy to help.

The Pender County Health Department will hold a one-day extended Back-to-School Immunization Clinic on Tuesday, August 25, from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. at both locations:

📍 Hampstead — 15060 Highway 17

Greetings from Surf City Elementary! Our teachers have been working diligently preparing their classrooms for their amazing new students. You will be receiving a personal phone call or email from your child's teachers to schedule your Orientation Meeting time for Thursday August 20. Please arrive promptly at your appointment time, as teachers will be presenting information in 30 minute time slots. Scheduling appointment times allows for a more personalized Open House experience.
