Exciting News for the Foundation! We just got a little stronger. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Kathy Harris-Smedberg to the RSU 22 Education Foundation Board! 🎉

Kathy is the new Assistant Superintendent of RSU 22, and she brings more than 40 years of experience in education. She’s been a teacher, a principal, an assistant superintendent, and a superintendent. Through every one of those roles, her focus has stayed the same: helping students and educators thrive.

Kathy believes every student deserves the chance to discover their strengths and reach their full potential. Supporting the Foundation is a natural next step for her. It’s how she helps bring fresh ideas, resources, and community support into our schools.

And when she’s not working? Her favorite place to be is with her family.

Welcome to the board, Kathy. We’re so glad you’re here and we can't wait to learn from you and with you! 💙

Calling all RSU22 teachers!

Got a classroom idea that just needs a little funding to get off the ground?

Mini-grant applications for the 2026–27 school year are open! RSU 22 teachers can apply for up to $500 for creative classroom projects.

For a couple of years now, 6th graders at Reeds Brook have benefited from a mini grant they recieved. The class read Zinnia and the Bees, learned to knit, and yarn bombed a tree at school. That’s exactly the kind of thing we love to fund. 🧶🌳

Here’s how it works:

Get approval from your principal.
Apply online. It’s one page, mostly short answers, and takes about 20 minutes.

Apply and see past projects here: rsu22foundation.org/mini-grants

All of us from the RSU22 Education Foundation want to say how much we appreciate you.

Your support at the 2026 Community Expo & Kids Carnival meant everything.

It was our first time bringing together business, wellness, and family fun, and this community showed up in a big way.

With over 300 attendees and more than $8,000 raised, you made a real impact for our teachers, students, and community.

We felt it in every smile.

We are so grateful.

We are so grateful for this community.

Because of your support at the Community Expo & Kids Carnival, we welcomed more than 300 attendees and raised over $8,000 to support our Teacher Mini Grant Program.

Everywhere you looked, there were smiles on people’s faces. The feedback has been incredibly encouraging, and it was clear that people were genuinely excited to be there.

This event was more than just a day of fun. It was a reminder of what happens when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Local businesses, families, students, and volunteers all showed up in a big way.

You showed up for our kids, and that matters more than anything.

We would love to hear from you. Comment below if you would like to see this again next year and what you enjoyed most about the day.

We are just getting started.
