Unfortunately due to the corona virus outbreak and in an effort to mitigate the spread of this virus, we are having to cancel our Reed Day for this year. Thanks to everyone who helped to organize the event and get things prepared! We will be back with another Reed Day next year!

Excellent recital hour performances by Brandon Gordon and Lindsey Poret Willard today! The audience got to hear “Black” by Marc Mellits, Weber’s “Grand Duo Concertante,” the Rietz Concerto and Weinberg’s Sonata! Made me proud!

Another successful Southeastern Single Reed Day is in the books! It was a pleasure to have my former teacher Steve Cohen return to Louisiana and teach a masterclass to my students as well as perform on our faculty and guest artist recital. We also had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Vanessa Davis perform and speak about her recital of unaccompanied clarinet repertoire! Huge thanks to Dr. Sarah Perez, Candice Godwin, and Dr. Ben Stonaker for speaking to the attendees of our day about career options both inside and outside of music and how training in music can help you in life regardless of what field you decide to pursue! And finally thanks to my wonderful colleagues Brina Bourliea Faciane, Henry Jones, and Travis Henthorn for performing and to all the wonderful students at Southeastern for helping to make the day go like clockwork! We hope to see you next year!
