I love using the diamond drag on my CNC. It lets me engrave incredible details on glass, granite, metal and more.
It’s just what it sounds like, a diamond on the tip of a stylus. It’s spring loaded so more pressure can be applied on harder material. Mine is from Widget Works Unlimited and the instructions that came with it are excellent.
The router or spindle is turned off for this. I use the engraving toolpath in VCarve Pro.

That flush trimming I was doing? (See the previous video) This is why. I made a fan frame. It goes into a doorway in my shop. Fans on high+window open on the other ends=lots of air flow. It’s a great exhaust fan.
Making a big ol’ frame and flush trimming the openings. Kreg router with a 1/4” spiral flush trim bit nailed it!
Any guesses on what this thing is? Hint, it’s exhausting.
Fly cutting an epoxy/wood slab on the CNC. Bow’s low profile clamp kit for the win. It was plenty secure and not even close to getting in the way of the bit. Great addition for work holding.
Not an ad. Just a cool product.
Flattening an epoxy/wood slab. Time for the Insta360 to go to work. This camera has been absolutely indispensable to me. It’s easy to sneak this tiny camera into weird spots for weird shots.
I’ve put finish on A LOT of projects in 40 years and it never gets old. I still love seeing the wood pop under finish.
I’ve been using Walrus Oil for a while and love it. It’s easy to apply and has good durability. Not an ad, just a product I like.
Made this jig to knock down high spots after I fill with epoxy. 1/2” ply for the base and stiffeners. 3/4” hardwood for the runners.
The runners are adjustable. That lets me change the stance or footprint of the jig based on what I’m working around.
A 3/4” straight bit makes short work of this. Set its depth so the bottom of the bit is a couple thousandths above the work surface.
