Southeastern Louisiana University Best Buddies

SELU Best Buddies promotes one-to-one friendships between college students and buddies, from OPTIONS, Inc. in Hammond, LA.

Best Buddies Colleges pairs people with IDD in one-to-one friendships with college students. In the past, individuals with IDD have not had the opportunity to have friends outside of their own environment. By becoming a College Buddy, volunteers offer a Buddy the chance to explore a new way of life.

We had such an amazing last event with our buddies! We made picture frames in order to remember how great of a year we've had, we played games, exchanged gifts, and had a dance party! We're beyond grateful for the friendships we've made this year and can't wish to start making plans for next year!

We had so much fun celebrating Dr. Suess' birthday month! We worked with our buddies to make a cat in the hat mask and thing 1 & 2!

🎉We wrapped up our tabling this week for Spread the Word to End the Word! We got just about 300 signatures and couldn't be more proud of SELU!

🎉We had a blast at our first day of tabling! We got just about 100 pledges today and we're so excited to see how many signatures we get by the end of the week!🎉

Spread the word! SELU Best Buddies will be in the Student Union this Tuesday- Thursday from 11-2 p.m. bringing awareness to the use of the R-word. Come pledge with your friends to take a stand and eliminate this word!
