The Three Drums- the most underrated obstacle in working equitation!
I love this one!

*Ride this back to front and it’s super fun!!
Ride it front to back and you will hate this exercise.*

Right circle, left loop, right circle.
To ride this well, DO NOT CUT from one bend to another- make sure you are perpendicular to the barrels (and in the center of them).
Start straightening your horse just BEFORE you reenter the middle triangle, so you can use your NEW inside leg as soon as you are inside the triangle to start establishing left bend as you go from the first circle to the second one.
DON’T get handsy!!! Keep your hands in front of you and use your seat and inside leg to push the horse up into your new outside rein.
Tempo tempo tempo!!! Don’t rush it. It’s so easy to rush it, which just makes the horse lean around the turn.

To keep your circles symmetrical, count how many steps you do on each one (for accuracy, only count the steps outside of the middle triangle)

Even if you never plan on doing working equitation, try this exercise (note, the barrels DO NOT need to be the center of your circles! You can circle bigger)
