Being disappointed by others is a big lesson: stop relying on the world and have full trust and conviction in Allaah. He never disappoints. How many of us spend sleepless nights feeling disappointed, allowing others to reign over our hearts? Remember what the Almighty says, "Call on ME, I will respond."

When you open your heart for the Sake of Allaah, nobody can close it except Him!

Oh Allah! When I am down, remind me that Your love for me is greater than my disappointments and Your plans for me are better than my dreams.

We study psychology, sociology, and a whole lot of human sciences in order to better understand people and deal with them. However we don't invest enough to understand about Allah to better relate to Him. He actually told us so much about Himself in the Quran and Sunnah, but we need to take that knowledge and embrace it at a more personal level.

Washing and cooking are not women's responsibilities. They were domestically shared duties between A'isha (Ra) and her husband, the Prophet (sallalaahu alayhi wa salaam). Dear husbands, women are not your slaves! Don't just come home, put your feet up, flick the remote and leave the chores to the wife! Offer to take the load off - look after the children, assist with chores, etc. You'll also end up getting to know your children more as people - many fathers are guilty of this. Forget working overtime. Please your family, not your boss!
