Days of Discovery are happening now, showcasing research, scholarship, and creative work across disciplines. Our CCA students are making their mark!

Graduate and Undergraduate students like Michael Casner (seen here presenting his script written during an independent study with Jake Giles) are showing just how creative and driven our Communication & Creative Arts students truly are.

We love seeing these ideas come to life and can’t wait to see what’s next!

This week was the PNW Graduate Program showcase. We had a great time meeting students and letting them know about our program. Graduate study allows you to move from broad understanding to specialized mastery and if you're interested in getting your Masters in Communication after undergrad, there's no better time than now to apply! We even offer teaching assistantships that can help pay for the tuition! Scan the QR code for more information.

As the semester comes to an end, many students look for ways to thank their instructors for the experiences they’ve had. Sometimes it’s a simple “thank you” or a thoughtful card, but occasionally students like Bethany Askew go the extra mile—dressing up as their favorite instructor to honor the work and moments they shared. This memorable gesture brought joy and laughter to the department and highlighted the meaningful impact the CCA has on our students and the impact the students have on us.

Our alumni continue to give back and inspire the next generation. Yesterday several alumni attended the Advanced PR portfolio critique and fostered community with theses young up-and-coming professionals. Thanks to Krystal Kadar Quagliara (alum - Director of Communications at St. Thomas More Catholic Church), Shawn Sullivan (alum - DDB Chicago, Senior Strategist) and Russel Brodhacker (alum - Marketing Media Coordinator for the City of Hobart) for your continued devotion to the Department of Communication and Creative Arts.

About the Play:
Not long ago, Paul had a girlfriend, a cat, and few complaints. Now his beloved cat has passed away, and he's left trying to cope with his loss. Between shifts at their overnight security guard posts, Paul's well-meaning coworkers attempt to cheer him up. In this melancholy comedy about security guards and a dead cat, their awkward and often hilarious attempts to console him only seem to make things worse, ultimately proving that some comforts only come on four legs.

Ethan Lipton's quirky and surprisingly profound comedy explores themes of loneliness, workplace camaraderie, and the complicated relationships between humans and their pets. The play reveals the bruised but tender hearts of people who desire little more than basic creature comforts.

Don't miss this touching and hilarious production!

Did you see our CCA Broadcasting students on ABC 7 Chicago today? A cohort of students attended a taping of Windy City LIVE and were able to get a backstage tour of the production facility, meet with the talent and crew, and learn more about their experiences. Thanks to Val Warner, Ryan Chiaverini and everyone at for making sure the PNW students had a great time!
