Welcome back for another Meet a Lion Monday. This week, the summer spotlight continues with a look at the offices, services and programs that support Southeastern students across the Division for Student Affairs.
I’d like to introduce Adonica Reed, Associate Director for the Campus Activities Board, the student-led organization that helps bring entertainment, traditions and Lion pride to our campus.
The Campus Activities Board, also known as CAB, helps create memorable student-focused experiences through events, activities and campus traditions that bring Lions together. From Gumbo YaYa in the Fall and Strawberry Jubilee in the Spring to movie nights, social events, the Miss Southeastern competition and many, many more events, CAB helps give our campus life.
Through CAB, students not only attend events, but with a dedicated committee of students, help plan, promote and create them. Along the way, these students build leadership skills and strengthen campus connections, not only for themselves but for all students, while helping to shape the unique student experience at Southeastern.
So today, we’re giving a roar for the students, staff and campus moments and treasured traditions presented by CAB that make Southeastern feel connected, celebrated and full of Lion pride.

We will surely miss you Marshall but wish you the best of luck!
Welcome back for another summer installment of Meet a Lion Monday. Over the summer Meet a Lion Monday keeps our summer spotlight on the offices, services, and programs that help students throughout the Division for Student Affairs.
This week meet Annette Baldwin, Assistant Director of LION UP Recovery and Intervention, and learn about the program that helps Southeastern students stay in recovery while working toward their college goals.
LION UP Recovery helps students recovering from substance misuse and eating disorders by offering connection, community, and recovery-focused resources on campus. With peer support, sober spaces, wellness programs, Recovery Ally Trainings, Narcan Trainings, and ongoing outreach, the program fosters a caring, understanding environment for students in recovery.
LION UP Recovery began in fall 2019 as the first college program in Louisiana to support students in recovery and those who are sober curious.
This year, the program grew its impact with more recovery-focused events, support groups, campus trainings, and outreach. It also hosted the 2026 Louisiana Recovery Capital Conference and kept up scholarship fundraising through the very successful Roomie’s Merry Market.
As Annette says, “Collegiate Recovery Programs do more than support students in their education and recovery journeys; they provide students with a quality of life that may have once seemed unattainable.”
This Monday, we’re cheering for the students on their recovery journeys, the people supporting them, and the program that includes recovery as part of college life.
So take a second to learn how LION UP Recovery supports recovery, student success, and the Southeastern community.

Meet a Lion Monday: Office of Student Publications
Meet a Lion Monday is going to temporarily have a new look. This summer I’d like to take the opportunity to showcase the many offices, services and programs offered by the Division for Student Affairs. To start, we’re introducing Lorraine Peppo, Director of Student Publications.
The Office of Student Publications is home to The Lion’s Roar, Southeastern’s student-run news source, and Le Souvenir, the university yearbook. Together, these publications give students hands-on experience in journalism, photography, design, social media, leadership and digital storytelling while helping document the people, moments and traditions that make Southeastern special.
As director, Lorraine works with student reporters, editors, photographers, designers and content creators as they learn by doing real work for real audiences. From covering campus events and student achievements to preserving memories in the yearbook, Student Publications helps keep the Southeastern community informed, connected and celebrated.
The office is more than a newsroom or a yearbook workspace. It is a place where students build confidence, sharpen professional skills, grow as leaders and learn how powerful their voices can be.
This Monday, we’re highlighting the students behind the bylines, camera lenses, captions, layouts, stories and the office that helps them bring Southeastern’s story to life.
Office of Student Publications: where student voices lead, campus stories live and where Southeastern memories are made.
