Pre-K families, mark your calendars! Public school Pre-K students in Tangipahoa Parish start on a staggered schedule to ease the transition for them.

Here's how the first week looks:

Thursday, August 13: Parent Orientation at school sites (your child's teacher will contact you with the schedule)
Friday, August 14, and Monday, August 17: Pre-K girls attend
Tuesday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 19: Pre-K boys attend
Thursday, August 20: All Pre-K students attend

A gradual start lets teachers welcome each child in smaller groups and helps little learners settle in with confidence. We can't wait to see those smiling faces!

The first day of school in Tangipahoa Parish K-12 students is Monday, August 10. Pre-K begins staggered entry on Friday, August 14, and our early learners are ready to shine!

Whether your little one is starting Pre-K, heading to a Head Start classroom, or settling into a new child care center, those first-day jitters are normal for kids and parents alike. A consistent bedtime, a practice run of the morning routine, and lots of encouragement go a long way.
