A Night of Excellence for Southeastern Nursing! 

We are incredibly proud to celebrate an outstanding night for Southeastern Louisiana University and the School of Nursing at the 2026 Louisiana Nurses Foundation Nightingale Awards!

Southeastern Louisiana University was named Outstanding Employer/Facility of the Year!

Maria Brylski was named Rookie Nursing Educator of the Year!

These honors are a wonderful reflection of Southeastern’s commitment to nursing education, our students, our faculty, and the nursing profession.

💚💛 Alumni Mother–Daughter Spotlight 💛💚
The Southeastern School of Nursing is proud to celebrate a remarkable family legacy!

Jennifer Littell, APRN, FNP-C, CTTS, earned her BSN in 1995 and returned to Southeastern to earn her MSN in 2013. Her daughter, Halle Bouffard, continued that proud tradition, graduating with her BSN in May 2025.

And the legacy continues! Jennifer’s daughter and Halle’s sister, Julia Bouffard, will begin her second semester of nursing school in Fall 2026.

We had the honor of celebrating an incredible group of graduates at the Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing Summer 2026 Nursing Pinning Ceremony.

This remarkable class represented the many pathways to becoming a nurse. We celebrated our Accelerated BSN graduates, who successfully completed an intensive, fast-paced program with determination and resilience; our Traditional BSN graduates, whose years of hard work and clinical experiences brought them to this well-earned milestone; our LPN to RN graduates, who built upon their practical nursing experience to advance their education and expand their impact on patient care; and our RN to BSN graduates, who balanced careers, families, and continued education while strengthening their leadership, clinical expertise, and professional practice.

While each journey looked different, they all shared one common purpose—to answer the call to serve others through nursing.

As these graduates receive their nursing pins, they join a proud tradition of Southeastern nurses who lead with knowledge, compassion, integrity, and excellence. We are incredibly proud of each of you and look forward to the difference you will make in the lives of your patients, families, and communities.

Today was an exciting day at our Health Tech Connect Camp as our high school students experienced what it’s like to be part of the Southeastern Louisiana University community!

Students explored our beautiful campus, participated in hands-on nursing simulation experiences, learned essential health assessment skills from our faculty and students, and even had the opportunity to visit with Southeastern’s President, Dr. Wainwright, who welcomed and encouraged them as they begin to explore careers in healthcare.

Experiences like these give students a firsthand look at the incredible opportunities available in nursing and the health professions while inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders.

A special thank you to our faculty, staff, student volunteers, and Dr. Wainwright for making today such a memorable experience! 💚🩺🦁
