Shannon Zumo, an instructor in the School of Nursing, recently presented her focused scholarly project at Womanโs Hospital Annual Research & Quality Poster Day. Originally conducted during her graduate studies (MSN Nursing Education) with the support of Womanโs Hospital Research Department, the project examined the effect epidural analgesia has on the various degrees of perineal lacerations in nulliparous laboring women. Womanโs Hospital proudly invited her to return and present the poster in recognition of this meaningful work.

Students from Mrs. Amanda Rufiniโs Senior Capstone Group truly Seized the Day at the recent 5k, hosted by The Epilepsy Alliance Program.
Inspired by a personal connection of one studentโs cousin battling the rare diagnosis of Dravetโs Syndrome, this group turned passion into purpose. Partnering with Our Lady of the Lake hospital and CPR instructor Cameron Motsenbocker, they walked alongside participants while also providing hands on education and demonstration.
Throughout the event they helped raise awareness and educate attendees on infant CPR, SIDS, and Epilepsy. Mrs. Daveโs and Mrs. Alkerโs second semester students joined them to take blood pressures before and after the walk.
Another example of our students making a meaningful impact within our communities!! ๐๐๐ฆ

Making a difference beyond the classroom ๐
Nurses Christian Fellowship has been actively serving our community this semester. We partnered with two local homeless ministries to provide meals, clothing, and hygiene items to those in need. Along the way, there was also time for connection, a fun game of Bingo, and a meaningful devotion focused on showing Godโs love through service. Our final serve day of the semester is April 11th. More details coming soon!! You do not have to be a member of NCF to join us. All are welcome to serve and make an impact.
