Early Childhood Education major, Briana Gilmore, served as a guest speaker for our current Education Dual Enrollment high school students who recently visited our campus. This was a 'full circle' moment for Briana as she was in Mrs. Barry's EDCI 1010 Dual Enrollment class at St. Charles Satellite Center (Class of 2022). Briana shared with the high schoolers what it is like being an education major at SLU and shared her hope for the future in saying "Regardless of my students' differences, I want to be a positive in their lives. I may not know every student's story, but it is not my job to erase what has already been written. My job is to change the writing as they turn the pages while they are with me."
Thank you, Briana Gilmore, for being an inspiration to our current and aspiring educators! Area high schools interested in offering EDCI 1010 or EDES 1500 as DE options are encouraged to reach out to the office of Teaching and Learning for more information.
