💜🩵 September is National Su***de Prevention Month 🩵💜

At GPLA, we want every student to know: YOU MATTER!

Our school counselor, Ms. Crystal Stanley, met with several classes to discuss mental health, the importance of reaching out for help, and the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Each student also completed and signed a Crisis Safety Plan, identifying trusted adults, coping strategies, and resources they can turn to when they need support.

On Friday, students from each homeroom were selected to enjoy Pizza with the Principals! Students enjoyed a hydration station, desert and a raffle! 🍕🍕

These students were recognized for consistently demonstrating outstanding behavior—not only in the classroom, but throughout our entire school!🌪️🌪️

We loved having the opportunity to celebrate these students and the positive example they set for others. Keep up the great work, TORS! We were so busy having fun that we forgot to take pictures!And yes one of us dressed as a pizza for most of the week! 🍕🍕🍕

Show Your Support on National 988 Day!

On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Tangipahoa Parish School System is recognizing National 988 Day to raise awareness for mental health and su***de prevention.

We invite all students and staff to wear teal and purple paired with school-approved jeans as a powerful symbol of hope, unity, and support. Let's show our community that no one has to walk through tough times alone.

Remember: Help is always within reach. If you or someone you know is going through a difficult time, you can call or text 988 anytime, 24/7, for free and confidential support.

GPLA COMMUNITY—WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Greenville Park Leadership Academy is gearing up for an exciting hands-on STEM project, and we need our parents, families, and community partners to help us collect a very simple—but very important—item:

EMPTY PAPER TOWEL ROLLS!

Yes, those empty rolls you normally throw away—we can put them to work! Our students will be using them for an upcoming STEM learning experience designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, engineering, and innovation.

💙 HOW CAN YOU HELP?
➡️ Save your empty paper towel rolls.
➡️ Ask family, friends, churches, businesses, and coworkers to save theirs, too.
➡️ Place your collected paper towel rolls in a bag and drop them off at Greenville Park Leadership Academy.

September 3–8, 2026
