Mr. Robert Lewis is a representation of Mechanical Engineers (ME) and Mechanical Engineering Technicians (MET).
I experience Mr. Lewis's excitement daily as he shows to me multiple projects now being completed for Richardson Thermal Control Industries Inc. (RTCI) as an intern. Not only is Mr. Lewis currently an intern (RTCI), he has been offered a full-time position upon graduation in May. Richmond Community College’s Mechanical Engineering Technology program is being discontinued, but students such as Mr. Robert Lewis will continue to show that Mechanical Engineering is a vital source to the community in multiple ways. All engineering disciplines require problem solving for design processes, CAD skills for working drawings used for manufacturing of parts, prototypes for prefabrication to cut cost, and product analysis to predict design failure. When you choose to purchase an item not only on its capabilities but the esthetics that make up the design appearance, remember this is why we need mechanical engineers.
