e comments and discussion on the District’s official social media channels. These channels are maintained to share information about District programs, services, events, announcements and school community activities, and to allow the public to comment on those topics. The District does not discriminate based on viewpoint. Comments will not be hidden, deleted, or restricted merely because they criticize the District, its officials, employees, programs, policies or decisions. However, the District may moderate comments in a viewpoint-neutral manner consistent with the purpose of the District’s social media channels and these Terms of Use. Comments may be hidden or deleted if they contain any of the following:
-Comments that are not reasonably related to the subject matter of the District post under which they appear.
-Obscenity, sexually explicit material or material that is vulgar, lewd or profane in a manner inappropriate for a school district communication channel.
-True threats, incitement of imminent unlawful action or statements that reasonably may be interpreted as threatening violence against any person, school or District property.
-Harassment, intimidation or targeted abuse directed at a specific student, staff member or other individual, including comments that disclose private personal information or identify a student or staff member in a manner that creates a safety, privacy or harassment concern.
-Discriminatory slurs or epithets directed at a person or group based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age or other protected status.
-Commercial advertising, spam, repetitive postings or promotion of products or services unrelated to District business.
-Campaign advertising or electioneering for or against a candidate, campaign, political party or ballot issue, where removal is applied in a viewpoint-neutral manner and consistent with applicable law.
-Content that appears to violate another person’s intellectual property rights, including copyright or trademark rights.
-Comments encouraging or soliciting unlawful conduct.
-Content containing malware, phishing attempts, malicious links or other material that may compromise public safety, cybersecurity or the operation of District systems. The District may also hide or delete duplicative comments posted repeatedly by the same user where the repetition disrupts the orderly operation of the page, provided the restriction is not based on the viewpoint expressed. Questions, Complaints and Alternative Channels:
The District’s social media channels are not monitored as formal complaint-resolution systems and should not be used to submit confidential student information, personnel complaints, public-records requests, bullying reports, emergency reports or other matters requiring formal review. Members of the public may submit school-related questions or concerns through the appropriate building administrator, Board Policy 9130 Public Complaints & Resolution, the Lakota Listens platform or other District-designated communication channels. Use of those channels is encouraged for matters requiring a response, investigation, confidentiality, or formal resolution. User Restrictions:
A user may be temporarily restricted from commenting if the user repeatedly violates these Terms of Use after prior removal of noncompliant comments or notice of the applicable rule. Any restriction should be limited to what is reasonably necessary to address the violation and should be applied in a viewpoint-neutral manner. Where practicable, the District should document the reason for hiding or deleting a comment or restricting a user. A restricted user may request review or reinstatement by contacting the District at the contact information designated for social media moderation inquiries. The District may immediately restrict a user or preserve and refer content to law enforcement or appropriate school officials if the content contains a true threat, endangers others, discloses private student information or creates a reasonable safety or security concern. Response Expectations:
The District does not guarantee a response to every question or comment posted on its social media channels. For school-related questions or concerns, please contact the appropriate building administrator. For district-level inquiries and feedback, please use the District’s designated communication channels, including Lakota Listens, where applicable.

THIS is as good as it gets! 🥰 These acts of kindness from current and former VanGorden Eagles will make all the difference for our students! ❤️🤍🖤

First up ☝️ These three Eagles (Hudson, Knox and Clay) spent their summer running a lemonade stand with one mission in mind: to make recess accessible for everyone. 🍋 They raised $700 to buy recess games designed specifically so classmates with limited physical mobility can join in on the fun.

And then ✌️ Senior Thunderhawk Claire spent months planning, designing and dedicating countless hours of hard work to build a new sensory wall for her former school. To top it off, she also provided a sensory cart and decals for an upcoming sensory path.

Safe to say our future is in good hands. 🙏 Give them some love in the comments if you agree! 👏

We know we're just getting this year started, BUT...If you've already had a Lakota teacher or staff member knock your socks off, give this post a like. 👍 Better yet, nominate them for a Lakota Gem Award! 💎

Gem Awards are back! A few quick reminders about how this works:

• ANYONE can nominate ANY staff member for one of six Lakota Gems.
• Submit nominations now through March 31.
• Recipients are recognized monthly October - April.
• Nominations carry over month-to-month all year (pool resets every fall).
• Staff can earn different gems, but not the same gem twice.
• The top Lakota Diamond Award goes to 4 people who exhibit all six gems. Look for the separate nomination form in February!
