ADRIAN- Jimmie Lou (Rye) Williams, age 91, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away Monday morning, June 9, 2025, at home surrounded by the love of her family and under the care of Elara Caring Hospice.
Jimmie Lou hails from Marion County, Alabama, where she was born, near Detroit, on September 22, 1933, one of John and Millie (Jeffreys) Rye’s thirteen children.
On December 26, 1950, Jimmie received her best Christmas present when she married L.D. Williams in Fulton, Mississippi. Jimmie and L.D. were blessed with two sons and a daughter, raising them in the Adrian area. Jimmie and L.D. enjoyed taking many wonderful trips down south to see family and friends, and a favorite spot to visit was Branson, Missouri. Jimmie and L.D. were fortunate to share 55 years together, before L.D.’s death in 2005.
During Jimmie’s working career, she had many different roles in the medical field at Bixby Hospital. She started out as a nurse aide from 1954 to 1957and transitioned to a ward secretary from 1957 to 1968; before moving on to a pharmacy technician at the hospital from 1968 to 1990. Jimmie and her family attended Adrian Church of the Nazarene and later, Bethany Assembly of God for many years. When she was younger, Jimmie belonged on her church bowling league with L.D. where they shared many laughs and great friendships. Southern fried cooking was Jimmie’s specialty, with coco gravy with homemade biscuits being a family favorite.
She will be missed by her children, Allen D. Williams, Christopher L. (Becki) Williams and Linda M. (Greg) Jenkins; grandchildren, Summer (Kyle) Mitternight, Joshua Williams, Jamie Sloan, Erin (Dustin) Kasel, Erika Williams, Micah (David) Draeger, Krista (Doug) Barrett, Luke Jenkins (Chelsea Westgate) and Landon Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Jenson, Rylan, Jor-El, Freya, Athena, Emma, Gage, Jeffrey, Lucas and Jordynn; siblings, Evadell Williams, Olen (Joann) Rye and Hershel (Gail) Rye; and special friends, Beverly Barker and Nicole. Jimmie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, L.D.; siblings, Samuel A., Lemuel, Wilbur, Marvin C. Johnny, Laymon, Sanford, Jessma and Evelyn; and a great-grandson, Odin Lynn Draeger.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian, with Rev. Ron Sparks officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hamilton, Alabama David Earnest age 79 died Tuesday March 25, 2025 from Prostrate cancer that turned into bone cancer of hips and back. There will be no services per his wishes. Younger brother Randy Earnest of Moline, Illinois has been with him since early February handling his affairs. He will be buried at Barnesville by our mom Vera Lee Earnest who passed in 2006.

Doris Lee Rye Lewis, age 89 of Hamilton, Alabama passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. She was born on Monday, November 04, 1935, to Ira C. Rye and Sarah Seay Rye.
Doris was a Southern lady of deep family values and a caring LPN nurse for her patients and co-workers over her career of nursing.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Raymond Lewis; son, Ronald Lewis (wife, Donnie); grandson, Robert Lewis; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Chasie Lewis, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Sarah Rye; and sister, Faye Rye Greene.
The visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at Marion County Funeral Home and the service will follow at 1 pm in the chapel with Bro. Ed Pluckett officiating. The interment will be at Cooper Cemetery.

Mary Sue Sanderson Goodson, 92, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away December 20, 2024. Born in the Barnesville Community of November 10, 1932, she was the daughter of J.R. and Chloe Sanderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Goodson.
Mary Sue was a faithful public servant working as a school teacher at Buttahatchee School, then in social work with the Department of Pensions and Security (now the Department of Human Services) retiring from the State of Alabama at 49. After retirement, she began a second chapter in her life of giving, opening ABC Daycare where she was affectionately known as "Ms. Sue" to generations of children and their families. Her nurturing spirit made her beloved by all who knew her.
A third career found her working for West Alabama TV Cable, where she continued to be a constant presence of warmth. Whether she was teaching, caring for children, managing a team at the cable company, or sharing her delicious homemade pecan pie. Mary Sue's unwavering kindness and work ethic were felt by all.
Mary Sue is survived by her sons, Mike (Celia) Goodson; Andy (Doris) Goodson; her grandchildren, John Michael Goodson, Maggie Goodson, Parker Goodson, and Will Goodson; and numerous extended family and friends who will miss her deeply.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Mary Sue's legacy will live on in the lives of those she touched with her love, wisdom, and generosity. Her family and friends remember her as a woman of grace, humor , and deep faith, whose laughter and caring heart brightened every room she entered.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 until service time beginning at 12:00 to celebrate her life and many impacts on the world.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Shirley Ann Scott Loggins, 76 of Hamilton, passed away November 6, 2024 at Diversicare of Winfield.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, 12:00 until service time beginning at 2:00 at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

He is survived by: his children, Teresa Hammitte (Mark), Scotty Sanderson (Leslie) of Hamilton, AL and Allen Sanderson (Karen) of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Hannon McDaniel Sanderson (Hannah), Harris Mobley Sanderson (Leah), Peyton Sanderson, Gracie Sanderson, Zachary Hammitte (Taylor) and Jennifer Bryant (Zach); and his great grandchildren, Liam Bryant and Lettie Bryant.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hamilton First Baptist Church (430 1st Ave SW, Hamilton, AL 35570). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Eleanor Watson Jackson, 88, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 the NMMC in Tupelo. She was born in Hamilton, AL on January 20, 1936 to the late Flavus and Vera Sanderson Watson. Eleanor attended Byrd School in the Byrd Community near Hamilton. On December 24, 1952 she married Lenice Mixon and together, they raised their 2 children, Marita and Gregg. Eleanor was a proud supporter of her children and was always a loving mother. Until her retirement, she owned and operated B & M Exterminating in Aberdeen. Eleanor was a master gardener, growing flowers and vegetables. She was always looking to perfect her gardening skills and loved sharing and learning ideas from her colleagues in the garden club. Not only did she enjoy the garden clubs, she also belonged to several civic and social clubs in and around Aberdeen. Eleanor was a natural in the kitchen, cooking and catering for many local events. In 1985 she married Dexter Jackson. She and Dexter enjoyed many travels together. She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Aberdeen and took part in many church activities. Eleanor Watson Jackson had a very accomplished and well lived life. Her memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Eleanor is survived by her Children, Marita King (Bill) of Houston, Tx and Gregg Mixon (Denise) of Birmingham, AL; brother, Vernon Watson, Amory; granddaughter, Eleanor Leigh Knight (Austin); step grandchildren, Cam Gunter (Mark), Chad Wilson, Courtney Ann Hall (Drew) and John Jackson (Hannah); great grandchildren, Reed and Audrey Knight; step great grandchildren, Payton and Ashley Gunter, Brady Wilson, Jackson Hall and Hudson Jackson; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Eleanor is preceded in death her sisters, Barbara Jamison, Laverne Latham and Evon Patterson; brother, Verlon Watson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Mark Thornton and Mr. Austin Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be Mitch Scott, Payton Gunter, Mark Gunter, Terry Logan and Jerry Watson.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday from 1PM until 1:50PM.
