Miami Regionals Conservatory! A botanical garden for the betterment of academic programs of Miami University Regionals & the citizens of the region.

The Conservatory supports the instructional and research programs of Miami University, to maintain a scientifically verified collection of plants, to enhance the knowledge and appreciation of plants through public education and interpretive programs, and to promote the conservation of natural resources. Our vision is to promote the betterment of the academic programs of Miami University and the schools and citizens of the region.

๐Ÿ—“๐Ÿฆ‹"Mad about Monarchs" Event at The Conservatory๐Ÿ—“๐Ÿฆ‹
Tuesday June 16, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The Conservatory at Miami Hamilton is hosting a free, drop-in "Summer Kickoff" event perfect for PreK-9th graders and their families. We will have a Monarch theme and guests will learn about the importance of pollinators and the special relationship they have with plants. Enjoy a variety of fun hands-on STEM activities and crafts focused on plants and pollinators. This includes: creating a pollinator hydration station, exploring our large greenhouse filled with plants from all around the world, and experiencing a new perspective with microscopes.

Snacks and coffee provided. Parent/guardian/caregiver supervision required.

New updates from our MIAMI Women Giving Circle Children's Outreach Grant! Pumpkins are planted in the field! ๐ŸŽƒ If all goes well again this growing season, the pumpkins will be used for fall events later this year.
Also, look at these neatly organized materials! Chelsea put together a new stacking unit to store all our outreach materials.
Lastly, we are planning another Kid's Summer Kickoff event this month, so stay tuned for more details!

Wisdom so far: "research your plants!" Chelsea advises to not throw out a "dead" houseplant until you make sure it doesn't naturally go through a dormant phase!

Come visit and support The Conservatory's plant sale Monday 5/18 from 1-4 p.m. to raise funds to repair and replace aging display benches. The sale will follow Chelsea's "Ask a Botanist" seminar from 12-1, so make sure not to miss that either!

We are also welcoming a new student assistant this summer, Savanah Grabel, who will be working with our indoor collections. Evan Wolfinbarger will be starting outside in The Gardens.
