📱 **IMPORTANT UPDATE: KANSAS SOCIAL MEDIA LAW**

Beginning **July 1, 2026**, Kansas House Bill 2299 established new requirements regarding how school district employees communicate with students through social media.

Under the new law, school social media communication with students must be one-way. District employees may not engage in direct, two-way communication with students through social media platforms.

Because it is not always possible to determine whether a social media account belongs to a current student, official Hamilton USD 390 district, school, activity, and organization social media accounts will no longer respond to direct messages or engage in comment-based conversations.
