Bob & Sarah Amos present a wide variety of songs in a captivating and intimate style, accompanied by Bob's formidable guitar talents.
He was longtime leader of the bands Front Range and Catamount Crossing, and is an award-winning songwriter, who has written songs for Hot Rize, Danny Paisley, Junior Sisk, Audie Blaylock, Special Consensus, The Chapmans and more.
The duo's song “Hills That I Call Home” reached #1 on the Folk Alliance International chart, while their album "Ever Onward" reached #1 on the Folk DJ national chart.
Bob's songs reflect many influences and styles including folk, bluegrass, blues, and Celtic. Sarah Amos, a vocalist of power and emotional conviction, has been singing with her father for 12 years.

Our friend Joe Walsh returns to the area on April 18, with a hand-picked band of his favorite bluegrass players. He calls the band Red Skies, and it includes Joe on mandolin, B.B. Bowness on banjo, Alex Rubin on guitar, and Steve Roy on bass.

Coming to GuitartownCT on March 28 is legendary mandolin player John Reischman, with his fantastic band The Jaybirds. John was the original mandolinist for The Tony Rice Unit in the 1980's. His band, which is based on the West Coast, is one of the very best in bluegrass, but they rarely venture East anymore. At age 23, Caroline Owens is a 3-time IBMA nominated Female Momentum Vocalist of the Year and recording artist and songwriter in Nashville,. She has performed alongside artists like Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, Suzanne Cox, The Isaacs, Larry Gatlin, Larry Cordle, Carl Jackson, The Malpass Brothers, Darin & Brooke Aldridge.
Caroline made her mark in songwriting when her debut single, "Heartbreak Train", was #1 bluegrass song of 2023, on the Bluegrass Borderline Charts. Her song, "No More Blue Moons in Kentucky", was on Billboard Magazine’s list of “Eight Must-Hear New Country Songs”. Her recent hit "You Still Got It" has been getting huge airplay on Sirius Radio.
Her band features Spencer Strickland on mandolin, Chase Bennett on banjo, Zak McLamb on bass and Ella Thomas on fiddle.

Young bluegrass guitarist Jake Eddy just finished a tour with Noam Pikelny. Jake is stopping in Hamden for a house concert, and bluegrass guitar workshop, on Saturday, January 24. It's at 166 Mather Street, Hamden.

Bob and Sarah Amos in concert
For 15 years, Vermont’s Bob Amos was singer, guitarist and songwriter for noted bluegrass band Front Range. Their album One Beautiful Day won IBMA’s Gospel Recorded Event of the Year. His songs have been recorded by Hot Rize, Danny Paisley, Junior Sisk, Audie Blaylock and Special Consensus, and others.
Bob and daughter Sarah's recent album Ever Onward reached #1 on national folk charts. This talented, harmony rich duo presents an entertaining blend of original and traditional songs, ranging from ballads to blues to bluegrass. They will joined by a mandolin player.
